Staff knowledgeable and accommodating. For the Caesar salad without croutons, and it was probably the best I ever had.

Being hosted so badly in a restaurant to which we were directed with very good references, not being able to get along and not being understood, made me sad.

Old style, very good found, outstanding service, high prices. That about sums it up. Historic building, central location, inventive dishes not always successful . I had an excellent Wiener Schnitzel, fish was first rate, starters interesting. Good white wines by the glass, red less impressive. Service José most experienced and efficient. Manageress ensured everything ran like Swiss clockwork.

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at this traditional, beautiful restaurant in Basel. Our waitress was attentive and sophisticated in a very friendly way, answering all of our detailed questions and recommending excellent wines. We enjoyed Swiss dishes, the “Wild”=Venison was superb and the starter and dessert were of a gourmet standard and delicious too. The environment is quiet and the surroundings historic and elegant.

We've long been searching for a restaurant that offers a properly nice weekend lunch experience .. and finally found it. The food at Schluesselzunft has been absolutely amazing. Interesting and great combination of flavours. There's the Zunft menu which is great and offers the latest ideas of the chef. Then there's a special menu that has a theme, like game, or currently truffles (very good by the way), and they have a vegetarian option as well.

We have been to the Rest Schlusselzunft on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. The food, the service and the ambience are exemplary. The restaurant is situated in the centre of the town and is in what used to be one of the old guild houses. It serves a changing menu (a bit unusual in Switzerland) and there are always enough choices for anyone accompanied by an extensive wine list. For a special evening it is difficult to find a better venue.

The restaurant name is painted on the dwelling but easy to miss with foot traffic and construction. Use your GPS! The ambiance is nice feeling like a cozy cave. The temperature is very warm to the level of promoting sweat. If you get cold easily, this is your place! If you run hot it’s a bit uncomfortable. The food was good, filling and reasonably priced within the Basel area norm. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. My friend got the veal and enjoyed the dish. I enjoyed the pumpkin soup and the Brie cheese sandwich.

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
