"We visited on Christmas Day with family. Going out on Christmas Day is something we’ve done a lot and in all rhe places we have visited we’ve never had such an awful experience. The atmosphere, food and service were terrible. I shouod have trusted my...gut, as from the moment of booking the organisation was terrible. I was told I’s not paid my deposit when I had, told I’d not booked when I had, received no email confirmation. Then was told I was double booked. Then was asked to pay in full weeks before. When we arrived on Christmas Day we had to find and sit at our own table and even though staff were hanging around the bar no/one came over. We struggled to get someone’s attention to order a drink. Which we eventually managed to do after about half an hour. We’d pre-ordered food but there kept bringing us the wrong food, which was really not nice. We were offered no sauces or gravy. We were never asked if we wanted to order more drinks so had one drink at the start. The table was a mess. There was no background music at all, absolutely zero customer service. We felt so unwelcome and like an inconvenience. The crackers on the table were the cheapest things ive ever seen. Despite it being a set menu at a head and included mince pies and coffee at the end we (and no one else) were even offered them. It was so bad it was a joke. The assistant general manager was very nice at the end when we said how bad it was but it was too late by then. I understand that Christmas Day can be difficult to do and especially during covid times and don’t expect perfection but this was just a joke."

Visited the Rope today for a meal with my girlfriend! The food and the atmosphere was great! Rachel our server went the extra mile for her birthday.

Visited here after a walk round Dunham Massey and this is such a lovely cosy pub. The Sunday dinners were really nice, as was the sweetcorn fritter I had for a starter. Would definitely return.

We came to celebrate Christmas my friends birthday we had a large table for people in a nice booth under the stairs. We ate of the festive menu which was fab! Will be back again soon with the husband!

We held our grandads celebration of life in the upstairs function space! Very well organised. We were looked after by Chris who made the day really special for us as a family. They took all our dietary requirements into consideration. Thank you to the Rope...and Anchor

All I can say is the worst Xmas day dinner I've ever had barley farm does a better one for a head we paid for a meal I can only describe as horrible never again feel ripped off spoilt our day had to...go home and cook some decent food no mince pies or coffee wich was supposed included sad day my advice one never have Xmas Dinner there
