The Red Lion - Carte

We came here for drinks and dinner 2 nights running and the fact that we came back a second time speaks volumes. The food is truly amazing but just as good as the food is the fantastic welcome. After 2 visits we feel like locals. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We can highly recommend the Red Lion.

Went here over Bank Holiday. Had intended to stay 2hrs but stayed 9hrs to watch entertainment. Wonderful atmosphere, everybody very friendly. Tasted bbq while there which was very tasty. Peter the landlord is a gem, very funny and welcoming and took the trouble to talk to everybody and I mean everybody to get to know them

Lovely traditional pub with open fire and good atmosphere and friendly nice welcome from the owner Both had fish and chips which were big portions , obviously freshly cooked and really excellent . Shared an apple crumble which was lovely . Very pleasantly suprised by the quality of food and the whole experience . Will definitely return . Voir le carte

First visit here but won't be our last. A warm welcome from the chap behind the bar who did everything right despite being very busy, making a point of checking my edlerly mother was enjoying her food. And the food was fab. So nice to have good quality, freshly prepared food from a varied menu that isn't the same as every other pub menu.

Fabulous cozy dog friendly pub with gorgeous food and lovely staff. Very warm welcome from Molly and Risha who looked after us brilliantly. We had some small plates which had beautifully balanced equisite flavours and a naughty but wonderful sticky toffee pudding. We popped in as we were passing not knowing anything about the place, but are so glad we did as it exceeded all our expectations definately our new favourite place. Thank you guys xxxx

We arrived as a party of 8. 2 arriving 5 minutes late. We ordered drinks for the six and 5 arrived. Coke had no syrup and tasted like soda. One person ordered water which didn’t get delivered. The other 2 arrived and ordered Diet Coke (pint) and a mocha. A small Diet Coke was brought but no mocha which arrived 20 minutes later after a second request. The food took ages. I know there were 8 of us but people that arrived after us were fed first . We mentioned this to the waiter who in fairness was left to run the bar and serve all the tables. Party of 8 for lunch Sunday just gone for my mother's birthday. Took 30 mins after asking numerous times for menus and drinks to be ordered. After an hour waiting for food not being told of a delay as they brought out the first main, I was told my meal I ordered, there wasn't any left, I asked how long it would take she said I don't know as the kitchen is busy. oked a table for 8. Took 20 minutes for drinks orders, no menus brought even after asking. Food order taken 20 minutes later again. Over an hour wait for food. By the time food was served we had been waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes. The timing of food was terrible, and several family members had finished eating before others were served. Sides came out after people had finished eating. Staff waited until food was being served to inform us something was out of stock on the menu, when I asked how long a replacement meal would be I was told by waitress ‘I can’t say, the kitchens run off its feet’, so one member had to go without a meal. 3 separate times a gluten free beef dinner came out without...

After reading good reviews we were really disappointed! We came for a family sunday lunch, firstly the waitress got my sons order wrong, (beef instead of chicken) which wasn’t a problem as we all make mistakes , the waitress apologised for the mistake but it then took another 20 minutes before his food came out in which I sat eating my dinner alone, I had no roast potatoes on my beef roast and made the waitress aware of this to which she apologised and told me she would bring them out asap , i ate my meal as slow as I could waiting and waiting but I eventually finished my food and asked for the bill, no roast potatoes ever turned up as they had obviously forgotten a second time!
