The people there are very friendly. The restaurant looks very old-fashioned. But that's what gives this restaurant its charm. Overall the restaurant serves very nice salads.

Wine station (Udo Hoffmann) goes to Olive. Wine tasting from 11.08.. The wines and the perfect menu were great. The host, waiter, entertainer and winemaker was a cool, loose guy. Everything in a relaxed, entertaining atmosphere. Look forward to the next sample.

Nice restaurant which serves very fresh food. The Olive has helpful staff who serve with a smile. They have some good white wine. Be sure to ask for the wine menu. Also, it is best to have a reservation as this restaurant is mostly fully booked, even on weekdays.

Ate here recently with my friends, Lovely setting in the centre of a small town.Service was good, Food very good.Sat outside under a huge umbrella, Slight problem with a small step, Which is difficult to judge, Customer had a bad fall whilst we were there, Something that the Restaurant needs to address.

This is a very popular place and beautifully in keeping with the traditional german fayre and surroundings. Of course, the portions are very large, which is a novelty for the English! Good standard food, and a well priced wine menu with variety. Over the years we have visited, I have found the staff quite unfriendly and not helpful as if too busy. I can't even put it down to my poor German as my companion speaks the language fluently. I would have rated the food higher but service is of equal importance and it was on more than one occasion I felt uncomfortable. As this restaurant is always very busy, I must have been unlucky.

"we arrived at 18:00 and stood first before the steps and waited for someone who met us. After a few minutes the young waitress came and as we had no table reserved, she wanted to give us the “Catine Table” at the entrance. because of our demand, we were allowed to make a better table. it is the nam and a smaller and simply furnished restaurant. the prices are, in my opinion, very favourable and therefore an assessment must be taken into account. of the about 10 tables were 3 occupied, on the other tables stood a preserved sign. sushi and sushimi are freshly prepared for the counter after ordering. during our stay some “except house” guests were served. it was a slightly overwhelmed young female operation that was responsible for the service, behind think 2 people for drinks and sushi preparation. it took some time until we got the menus at least once, it was not asked for the drinks at the same time. we had time to study the map and discovered very many dishes that promised us. we finally decided: 6 vegetarian mini spring rolls with sweet-saur sauce (3,00€ 2 summer rolls in rice paper with peanut dip (4,00€ spicy udon noodles with garnel and vegetables (9,50€ grilled large raw with sweet and teriyaki sauce (10,50€) mini mochi eis (2,30€ leim) the drinks came fast, the beer well cooled from the bottle, very lonely the jasmin tee, because this was loose and was not served in terrible tee bag. tastefully he fell a bit of good jasim tee. after another 5 minutes our appetizers came. my summer rolls were very good, the sweet and the salat leaves in it rich and crisp fresh, the peanut sauce with small erdnuss. on the other hand, we do not want to like the mini spring rolls, because they first had a thick dough for spring rolls and just fit very badly. the sweet-saure sauce was just normal sweet-saure sauce. we were asked if it tasted and the service became somewhat more volatile. had they noticed that this is going to take pictures? it took only 10 minutes, then the main dishes came. my lt. card described large raw were in normal size and a tasty that the grilled were. to this delicious sweet and rice in Teriyaki sauce and with sesame care. a solid Asian cooking art as I met her in asia. the noodles of my wife would have been too sharp, but she was happy with her court. because we felt hungry, we ordered this dessert. that came very fast, but had disappointed us. the mini mochi eis consisted of 2 balls with schokosauce. vanilleeis taste-neutral, the green tea is a little better for him. the leimeis with banana didn't taste like banane at all. the mass in it looked more like meat, but tastefully we couldn't find out what we had served. on demand, we were assured that it should act banan. operation: at the beginning a little dragging and at the end faster, a total of 3 stars eating: an appetizer not so good, main dishes o k, dessert can our opinion not and therefore also 3 stars asian environment: simple in the facility, no table decoration, but because it is a cheap restaurant very clean for me the best asiate in aid if it offers away from dessert. we have not visited"

"When you hear the representations of regular customers, the Benrather Palmenhaus is perceived as an institution. After our unique visit, something was shown. A place is always as good as the people who work there and in the gastronomy, especially how to feel it yourself. It is easy to say that it has been experienced differently due to the situation, as well as a long service life. It is true that, as in most cases with a provider of Greek cuisine, the portions are extremely large and therefore the price-performance ratio is true. On the other hand, if either one of the operators can no longer be seen for a very long time, or if a few people again shortly after a “ignorance” later, you ask for “coordination” from all! Maybe we caught a “bad” day, but some of the meats weren’t so cleaned of quality. But what should be shown to me as the biggest problem is that the tile department can only be reached via a steep spiral staircase and it is unfortunately not suitable for disabled people. For these reasons, there is no more than an OK in it, even if the aforementioned regular customers could see it differently. The palm house is centrally located in the Benrather main road and yet it is quite inconspicuous from the outside. One follows a tiled passage before reaching its door at its end. If you want to eat here as a foreigner, it is recommended to place the vehicle on the P R parking next to the station. Otherwise it will be difficult. I cannot mention the costs involved. One has to say that, among other things, the different stops at the Urdenbacherallee make parking impossible there. In a shop window you can already view the menu cards and choose one of the dishes immediately. The experience made it a little slower. I find it worth mentioning that the restaurant continues to offer a lunch where about 10 specialties are available. In the meantime, I find it a bit expensive, because even an appetizer noodles are at 10 €, a maximum of 16,90 €. Can't even say if I should ever decide. I don't want to exclude it. Due to the current regulations we were assigned to a table. In summer, it is recommended to choose a place outside my view. For this, the whole restaurant must be crossed before it is finished. They are sitting in a kind of pergola and even if there is not the naming palms, plentiful green, but there is still here as cloudy as it was, good. I'd rather leave it out. One should not be surprised that the chairs are not the most convenient: they are the simple wooden folding chairs. From my point of view, the condition that was on him was no longer because it was already very thin. It is necessary to “possibly” with other guests on “Cuscle Course”. Despite Corona, there were only Plexiglas discs between the individual tables that are very close to each other. It was pretty crowded at night. It is therefore recommended if it is not a very spontaneous decision as we can always make a table for ourselves! If that is not acceptable for whatever reason, it can happen to us that, despite a request, it is not possible: this has not only surprised us but also disappointed us because it was in the smoking area, which we would rather avoid! It was not a good start, so as soon as something was released and the order was waiting for us to “self-will” to be implemented. We also announced this on the next occasion of the operation, which has not been commented on inexplicably! On the map you will find Greek classics, specialties of the house, fish, small items and regular seasonal offers. One should bring a great appetite to create such a grill plate as we ordered it. As I discovered it on the HP linked here, they catch at €17.90, which I would like to continue to call favorable, in the abundance that is found on the plate! We chose the Santorini plate. What we liked less was that on the wish of one of the two, without serving rice, and instead only the pommes that were even brought on another dish were not fulfilled. What had made us a very chaotic impression that on the one hand nobody felt "responsible" for our table, on the other hand: "is not mine, say my colleagues." So it happened that at times that should not be, we had to get completely without drinks. Before I could make the order, it took a long time. Rather, the guests who have come to us for a long time and we sat there still hungry, without “bearance” on a change! After this had been regulated, it took about 40 minutes until the steam plate had "reached" us; . Not everyone likes everything so that I exchanged my minced meat Suzuki, Souvlaki – should have been desalinated for lamb and turkey : It happens to me that the card has been significantly changed since then. The grill plate also includes pork, turkey steak and pork fillet. The latter and the lamb were delicious. The steaks were too dry for me personally, and it also concerned the gyros. Fritten were good. The added salad was nothing special and the sauce tasted more like the finished product: . I found the rice. Not only after me, the passage into the sanitary rooms was difficult. The stairs as such are very narrow, so you usually have to be patient before you can enter them yourself. I personally felt it pretty steep. As I mentioned at the outset, it was not intended for cyclists because nothing else is available to them! In such a huge restaurant, which would be possible from my point of view and with relatively little effort if operators would consider such a solution at all! For the reasons described, I made a lot of assessment. The location and value for money speak for them. On the other hand, employees also regarding communication and in part the quality of the meat. We are undecided when and when there will be another visit."
