"Such a lovely little cafe and the welcome was so friendly. We had delicious home made scones, jam and cream and some of us had the tea cakes which were equally yummy. Would highly recommend seeking out this little cafe tucked away a short walk from the main shops definitely worth visiting. p.s The dogs loved the complimentary sausages!!"

"This charming little spot offers stunning views of Looe Island. Despite its small size, it boasts an impressive menu! The staff are incredibly friendly and engage in conversations, particularly with dog owners. It's conveniently located near the South West Coastal Path, making it a great stop for hikers. It can get quite busy in the summer months, and while there's ample roadside parking nearby, it might be full during peak season. If you're visiting on a chilly day, be sure to dress warmly. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back! Service: Takeout."

"A rather long wait one is forewarned on the menu , but eventually, very good food arrived. The owner ? not very engaging. Living in Bali I thought he might have something to say about Thailand, but he did not seem keen to engage in a conversation, however short. Oh well, end of season exhaustion?..but the son ? more concerned and apologised for the long wait.... the Thai ? lady in the kitchen gave me a big, genuine, smile when I stuck my head round the kitchen door on the way out and thanked her for the spicy food, just-as-we-like-it, and she reminded me of service back home in Bali . "The crab was lovely however the lobster special was sadly anything but, grey, smelly and far too fishy! So very disappointed and sorry to be writing this review, I had such high hopes and have raved about this place before, so much so I was excited to get a table. It was just a last minute booking to take my daughter and her fiance out whilst they were visiting for the weekend, I've previously given a 5 star rating and been here a few times with friends and never had a bad experience. I've had the lobster before here too, so I had every confidence it would be lovely, sadly, it was not! Our server was lovely and he did ask if we enjoying the food early doors, my daughter was eating hers (she ordered the same) and I asked her how was hers and she seemed to be enjoying it! So I politely nodded and tried again, no it wasn't to be. I thought maybe I had a bad bit, so I tried once more and ended up spitting it discreetly into a napkin. I 100% appreciate I should have said something then and there, but it is such a small intimate restaurant and I just didn't want the fuss or to spoil the evening for everyone else! I didn't leave a tip, well just the minimal change as I was so disappointed. The whole experience for me was ruined. We all enjoyed the spiced crab starter and the red wine x2 and maybe if the lobster had been spiced I wouldn't have noticed and I tried to eat the pasta and prawns instead avoiding the lobster but eventually I gave up. We left without having a dessert as my daughter noticed I had pushed the lobster off to the side and was asking me what was wrong, I told her I had probably eaten too much crab and the lobster just didn't taste as nice. Her face said it all, oh my God, she said and then asked, do you think it was off looking at her empty plate and pulling a face ! Bless her, she can be very dramatic and I just wanted us all to go out for a nice evening, so I said No love, I'm sure it was fine. I'm just not feeling it tonight. The monkfish my son in law (to be) had was lovely and my other daughter who went for a veggie pasta option took hers home for later. The waiter as always is very professional, pleasant and kind but not even his charm could save the day. I knew it was not right and I suspect the persons or persons who cooked/served it knew too so why cause a scene. It may get me little respect, but I've joined the growing so called keyboard warrior crew by complaining online and in my own time. We went home and I made our own Affogato and a new version for my daughter with pistachio liqueur very nice they were too!"

"The Smugglers Inn is located in the pretty seaside village of Seaton, with public car parks nearby. We enjoyed a Sunday roast and were lucky to get in because customers were queuing when the doors opened on the dot of 12 noon. I think we had the last available table it was too windy to eat outside. A choice of four meats were offered on the carvery and additionally there was also a vegetarian option. We were pleased to find that 'small plates/portions ' were available for senior adults as well as for children. The food was hearty and we couldn 't fault the staff who looked after us. Oh and it was excellent value too no wonder it 's popular! Service: 5 Location: 5"
