"Stopped for Sunday lunch while we were passing. Absolutely lovely, one of the best Sunday Lunches I've had in ages. The meat was lovely and tender, the gravy was thick. Good selection of veg. Nothing was over cooked. We all the small adult portions, and they were huge, brought the leftovers home. Sadly we had no room for dessert, although they looked delicious. Great Value, lovely friendly quick service, a real fire, and we were allowed to bring our dog into the bar. I'll definitely be back when I'm passing again."

We visited for Sunday lunch which is served from midday to about 6.30 Food was excellent loads of it all well cooked and even a take away box supplied for our dog.We definitely intend to visit again asap

Popped in on the off chance of having Sunday lunch on a wet and windy day. Able to get a table in the bar as we had our dog with us. We both had the roast lamb plenty of meat, stuffing and roast potatoes and dishes of veg (broccoli, cabbage, cheesy leeks, carrots, swede and mashed potatoes) and a jug of extra gravy. All served piping hot and delicious.

Nicest vegan burgers I've ever had! I had trouble finding a vegan meal that I wanted here and having ordered garlic mushrooms I found they were drenched in cream. I should've checked. They kindly took them back and replaced my meal with a vegan burger. Very kind but not exciting. UNTIL I bit into it!! Wonderful crunchy outside filled with glorious peas/broad beans/ creamy green stuff. So tasty!! Wish I could have the recipe???

Sunday lunch today was delicious be warned though, if you order starters think very carefully before you order your main course the portions are very, very generous !! Next time I will be ordering the child’s size main, they are certainly more than enough Beautifully cooked meats, roast spuds, parsnip, cabbage, swede, sprouts, broccoli and mashed potato, with 2 huge Yorkshire puds and lashings of gravy, served on piping hot plates. Just perfect. We will be back.
