"I would recommend avoiding the buffet at this restaurant, especially if you are dining when it's not busy. We arrived at opening time and the place did not fill up. While there, a few takeout orders were fulfilled. The service by our waiter was good and he was very pleasant. However, choosing the buffet, particularly as vegetarians, was a mistake. I ended up with a plate full of dry and bland carbs like rice, potatoes, and lentils. I cannot speak for the taste or quality of the menu items, so I am giving it 3 stars based solely on my personal experience, which was more like a 1-star experience. The restaurant could use some attention to detail and upkeep, as the ambiance felt lacking and more like a home than a dining establishment. Additionally, there was a discrepancy in the buffet price displayed on the wall menu downstairs (£11.95) and the menu inside the restaurant (£15.95), so they should update the pricing information."

We had a takeaway, the tikka masala was awesome but the bhuna was a little bland. Onion bahjis are really good so are breads.

Excellent. Situated in a side street just off the main shopping street, over a fish and chip restaurant. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you and the food, exquisite! I'll be going back there for definite!

Very friendly team and the food was excellent. You may think twice about visiting, as the door and corridor upstairs to the restaurant isn't very inspiring. But don't be put off! They have great cleanliness ratings and the experience is well worth a visit.

My partner took me here for our Valentines meal and I can not recommend it enough. The Gurkha was an enjoyable experience. The staff were polite and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food tasted amazing! I recommend you sit in and really get to enjoy the atmosphere and music. The interior design is beautiful!

The food at this restaurant did not meet my expectations. The lamb and duck dishes were overcooked and tough, drowning in sauce. Both lacked the expected ingredients and were lacking in texture. I was disappointed and unsure if I even received the aubergine dish I had ordered. For the price of 35 pounds, this meal was not a good value.

Have just eaten the most fabulous meal here this evening, the biggest onion bhaji’s I’ve seen in my life! My husband said the lamb samosas were bursting with flavoured lamb and his main of Ghurkas mixed grill was succulent and extremely delicious. I had a chicken tikka masala with sag aloo, both dishes very tasty and cooked perfectly. The waiting staff were all very friendly and the meal served nice and quickly. Would highly recommend and if we weren’t on holiday this would definitely be a restaurant of our choice.

We want to express our gratitude to the staff at Nepalese Gurkha Restaurant for their outstanding hospitality that was very warm and welcoming. We had made a reservation for a large group (42) for our field trip group dinner and there was plenty of space to accommodate all of us comfortably. The food was delicious and they were very accommodating with a variety of dishes to cater to different dietary needs. The atmosphere was fantastic and it was the perfect way to end the evening after a tiring day of hiking. The students really enjoyed it and we would definitely make a reservation again if we happen to pass through.
