"A perfect place for breakfast, coffee, lunch, dinner and a family party for 30! The location, decoration and atmosphere is delightful with it’s beautiful views of the beach, it’s fun quirky decor, friendly staff and great food. We have visited Molly’s several times since returning to Stonehaven for many occasions these past few months and have not been disappointed. Breakfast, whether a Sunday vegetarian breakfast, a salmon benedict or an eggie softie they are all freshly made and tasty. We also enjoy the lovely brewed coffee with a wee biscuit, all together are simply delicious. Lunch has a popular selection of soups, sandwiches, mains and desserts. The Cullen Skink was full of fresh fish and the best my husband has had. The tasty sticky toffee pudding was well, sticky toffee pudding, need I say more? The staff kindly put a candle on it for my father-in-law’s 86th birthday. Dinner has not disappointed us, the chef changes the menu often and it caters for all dietary needs. We asked for the scallops and black pudding dish to be prepared lactose free and it was returned to our son served with a delicious herb sauce instead. PARTY PLACE, the perfect place for a party! Janice and her team took great care of everything for our family wedding welcome party for 30. The menu choices were delicious, the staff helpful and friendly and the layout perfect for celebrating with family. We highly recommend Molly’s."

The sun was shining, making it a delightful place for breakfast. Just be careful not to leave your food unattended, as Hamish the seagull might make a surprise visit! The staff were friendly and attentive, and both the food and drinks were enjoyable. We ended up returning several times during our stay.

My husband and I had a very tasty lunch here on the way to Aberdeen for an anniversary mini break. I was delighted to be able to have a wee cider too most similar cafes don't seem to have this option! Staff were friendly and the service was good. The cafe was clean, covid rules were adhered to and the decor was fun! The fantastic views didn't hurt either! Voir le carte

I dined here several years ago and was quite impressed, but my recent experience was disappointing. The prices were high, and the presentation was lacking. The lemon sole was overcooked and had an overwhelming lemon flavor, while the French fries and asparagus were both overdone. When I asked for tartare sauce, I was informed they didn’t have any. Additionally, we had a long wait for our meal. I would not recommend this restaurant. 1/5

We went as a family for breakfast as staying at the caravan park . We ordered a full breakfast and two wee breakfast’s the serves was good and prompt. We got our drinks straight away and waited about 15 for our cold breakfast. The full breakfast was missing a potato scone and the bacon on all breakfast was half cooked and cold it was clearly sitting in trays waiting on order. All three Fried eggs was well and true over cooked. For the there breakfast and two coffees and a soft drink we were £31.95 we fell absolutely robbed and will not be back. On the plus side the staff were all nice and well manners.

"The building itself is historic, and the museum is really the only reason you should step foot inside. The restaurant itself food was good, albeit smaller portions, so not a place to go if you’re really hungry. The server was awful, which is why the 1 star rating. When you enter, the chef calls out a quick hello as you walk past the kitchen service window, a lovely welcome. However, our server was Gus, and he was one of the rudest servers I’ve ever encountered. We weren’t expecting red carpet treatment, but being kind to your guests shouldn’t be the exception. Both my husband and I worked in the service industry for years. We know good service, and this was not it. Gus began our dining experience by belittling us when we asked for a jug of tap water for the table, bringing us a bottle of flat water instead and “correcting” us for not being clear about what we ordered. How does one misunderstand a table asking for a jug of tap water? He then proceeded to take our drinks menu away before we’d had a chance to consider what we were eating before ordering a beverage. When we’d entered the restaurant a customer coming out told us they had enjoyed the sea bass on special. When my husband inquired, Gus told him “I would have told you if we had any”. How about just saying there was none left and leaving it at that? The meal was full of insulting remarks, but the final insult came when Gus came to collect our dishes after the meal and commented that he’d never seen people clean their plates as well as we had, to which my parents responded that they hadn’t licked the plates. My husband then shot back “I guess most people don’t finish their food here”. There was no way in hell we were staying for dessert. I’d rather have a past due Kit Kat from the petrol station that’s been sat on for 8 hours in the car than suffer through dessert at this place. The food was good, but not nearly good enough to make up for the deplorable way we were treated by this server. I can’t tell you when I’ve felt so unwelcome or belittled in a restaurant. Perhaps because we were dressed comfortably for a long drive and arrived slightly rumpled that we were treated with such disdain. If you enjoy a heaping pile of snobbery with your meal, go. If you prefer to feel welcome, and that your custom is valued, go somewhere else. Like, ANYWHERE else in the bay would have been better than this place."
