As good as the Magpie Whitby Delicious Fish Chips I’m not sure what more I need say The fish is fresh the cooking oil is fresh

Great food, lots of choices gluten free and vegetarian available. Love the online ordering system as they cook fresh so takes time but avoids long queues

We were driving pass and we wanted a fish and chips so we stop and bought 2 fish and chips the fish was so good and love the chips we not long got back from Cornwall and and it was just like being back there will be driving back there soon for my fish and chips again

Once a month we have a fish and chip supper and like to support our local independent. Unfortunately the last 2 suppers have been disappointing, both pieces of fish small and large were over cooked and ending up given it to dog. Will have to look for another chip shop next month.

This place offers a good range of takeaway food and our experience is good quality and good value. We sometimes stay in a cottage at Westhide which is 5 minutes by car. On arrival at the holiday cottage we normally nip to Salt Malt for fish and chips. The quality is good, the portions are incredible. COVID safe so all in all a great revisit. Voir le carte

We were passing on way home from holiday and decided to treat ourselves, to a fish supper. The lady who served us was charming and very helpful, even found us some extra spoons and forks. We didn’t have to wait long and it was freshly cooked. My husband choose a steak and kidney pie and I had small cod, the portions were large and more than enough for us. I will say that my fish was a little dry but I loved the batter (what was it? and if passing we will certainly stop again.

We phoned to request two haddocks, two chips, one large and one smaller, 15 mins before closing time, and drove there to collect the order, which was ready promptly so far, very good. However, what bothers us is two things; firstly, that, even allowing that they were about to close, both the chips and the fish (though with a nice crunchy batter) were so dried out that in our opinion they were not really worth eating. And secondly, that this cost me £24.70, which even allowing for recent price rises to shops and restaurants, seemed very steep for two portions. But maybe this is the 'new normal ' price everywhere now, in which case we shall have to adjust to it as the outlets are trying to. BU...

Drove home after collecting order to find some missing and most wrong. Lady owner literally declared me and my husband liars and said tough as the cctv showed our order was correct (all 6 family members could confirm order was wrong but apparently I was lying) I sat down to eat our meal although wrong we still have young children who where hungry and I myself being heavily pregnant wanted to eat. Mid way through the meal I got a phone call again from said lady owner, swearing, rude and threatening me! If it wasn’t for the fact I’m pregnant and don’t need to unnecessary stress I would have definitely rang the police to report her! Yet again for the third time the food made us unwell, fish is...
