Mai-Thai - Carte

We loved the pad thai and sweet and sour chicken. Although the waitresses couldn't speak much English, they understood my broken German and too understood the numbers on the menu.

I don't think they do a good job with holding food at proper temperatures. I had the vegetable curry with tofu. it stayed with me about 20 minutes. Needless to say I don't recommend it.

Sehr schlechtes essen, Pad Thai mit Ketchup angereichert, hat mit guter Thaiküche gar nichts zu tun. Übersichtliche Portionen, dafür unverhältnissmäßig teuer. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen! Voir le carte

The food was good but not special. The staff were super friendly and gave me an excellent recommendation for a dish. They take credit cards unlike a surprising number of Cologne restaurants which only take cash.

Das Essen war nicht so scharf/gewürzt wie erwartet. Koriander für die Suppe wurde auf Wunsch nach geliefert. Ambiente ging. Es lief Musik der BeeGees und es gibt noch kein Bild vom aktuellen Landesoberhaupt... ;-) Service war gut und freundlich.

I've eaten Thai food in all kinds of locations (U.S., Thailand, other areas of Europe). Can't say I enjoyed the food a friend and I had here (pad Thai and a chicken green curry). Maybe it was an off-night since many other reviewers here seem happy. But our food, including even the rice, tasted over cooked and/or possibly made from old ingredients. The curry itself was the consistency of water, more like a soup than a sauce. We "went Thai" since we'd already eaten at the German beer houses several times...but agreed at the end that we should have stuck with another schnitzel! Voir le carte

Dit aan de Heumarkt gelegen Thais restaurant ziet er niet uit als een echte Thai. In de praktijk valt dat mee. De Thaise kippensoep is lekker gekruid, maar halve teentjes knoflook in de soep, nee, dat hoeft ook weer niet. De vleesgerechten zijn doorsnee, zeker niet slecht maar ook niet echt voldoende. De schotel met eend en cashewnoten was op zich best lekker maar miste de verfijning. ThaÏse rijst blijft natuurlijk iets apart maar onze rijst was wel van een zeer behoorlijke graad van klefheid.De bediening is vriendelijk, maar heeft geen haast. Daar staat tegenover dat je buiten aan de Heumarkt aangenaam eet en er is altijd wel iets te bekijken.

Eigentlich weiß man ja als Kölner, dass man nicht in die Altstadt gehen darf. Wir taten es trotzdem. Selber schuld. Die beiden Cocktails waren ungenießbar. In dem "Pattaya" schmeckte man überhaupt keinen Alkohol. Vermutlich der teuerste Fruchtnektar aus dem Discounter. "Blue Lady" war einfach nur unglaublich süß. Der leichte Hauch von Blue Curuacao verblasste sehr schnell. Vermutlich ein Aromensirup. Er erinnerte mich an einen Instantkaffee, den man mit Wasser angerührt hatte. Die Bedienung war semi freundlich. Und es hat sich mal wieder gezeigt, dass der Zustand der Toiletten oft etwas über die Qualitäten des Lokals verrät. Schließlich haben wir die Getränke stehen gelassen, gezahlt und sin...

If you are easily bored then this is the restaurant for you.While eating our food, to our horror, a mouse was happily scurrying along near the wall on the left as you go in. On mentioning this to the waitress she said she would tell the manager but he didn't come over to apologise.When a couple came in and sat right where we had watched the mouse run back and forth, they were not advised to move. When we finished we asked for the bill. Nothing was mentioned by the waitress about the mouse and no apology given or free drink or reduction of our bill.
