"I was excited to go back to La Caverna with some friends, but was disappointed to find out that you have to order in advance, which is not my preference. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, our expectations quickly diminished. The greeting we received, "I'm busy dealing with this customer," was not very welcoming, and the rest of the evening continued to be frustrating with poor service. It took 40 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive, and our starters were okay, but our mains were brought out before we were ready and some of our guests were missing from the table. We were not offered dessert or coffee, and when we ordered more drinks, they never arrived. It took over 30 minutes to get the bill, and when I asked for my remaining pizza to be boxed up, it took another 20 minutes to find a box, even though they do takeaway pizza. The staff member was rude and sarcastic when we went to pay, and made a snide comment about splitting the bill, even though there were only 5 of us. When he asked if we were leaving a tip, I firmly responded with a 'no' in front of my friends. Later that evening, I got sick and ended up vomiting everything I had eaten at the restaurant. I will not be returning to this establishment, as the poor treatment and service we received was unacceptable. I chose to spend my money here, and was disappointed with how we were treated as a group."

Amazing takeaway. Tried the bruschetta fungi, hake goujons and pizza followed by the best ever tiramisu and profiteroles. Fantastic. Consistently excellent food. Well done!

A hidden gem. Stunningly good food, good wine selection and extremely hospitable hosts. Great value for money but high quality at the same time. Great ambience in this cellar level restaurant- if you can get a table there it won’t disappoint

Thank you for coming out tonight. we went for 6 starters between 2 of us and it was absolutely incredible. it was clear that the love was put into each court, it turned on the bang on the time and everything was hot pierced. the best pickup we had in a long time!

pick up a selection from here for an evening in lock; eating was so authentic tasted so much better than other Italian restaurants I tried. the vegan mozzarella was delicious I didn't feel like I was missing on the milk. large portions kept us fully satisfied will order more!x

I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price. I have only good things to say. We will definitely be returning! Table 9 is our new favorite spot!

Had the best night here last night! We came at last minute for our anniversary and they made it so special for us! from amazing service and having the chef pick the basil right in front of you that we saw later in our food! Cannot get any better. Amazing food amazing price for an amazing restaurant. We’ll be back soon

My friends and I decided to change things up and try a different restaurant in Dorchester. It’s safe to say we made the right choice. La Caverna has a beautiful restaurant and amazing food, coupled with impeccable service. The owners were more than happy to cater towards my friend’s allergies and even allowed us to put in a pre order to make the whole experience smoother. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Dorchester.
