"We visited during The Open mid July 2023 and ate from the special Golfers’ 2 course menu. I had the pork dish while my husband had the slow roasted lamb. Both were beautifully presented as well as delicious and served with seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection. Homemade bread and butter pudding and baked Alaska followed; both were the best we’ve ever tasted! We were told that this place is all about the food and indeed, the food wouldn’t have been out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. The service did not disappoint either. Julian and Jackie are a fab team. Yes, the decor/ambiance could maybe do with a tweak or two but this place is a hidden gem on The Wirral and great value for money."

a family anniversary. customer service and love to detail absolutely fantastic. eating was amazing! the castle was delicious and the most beautiful steak ever tasted. both beginners and desserts were fabulous. can't wait to go back.

A lovely meal as always. I had the pheasant, very tasty with some seasonal veg and potatoes. Also had a lovely cheese board to finish. It's always fantastic here and we are always made to feel very welcome. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!

I can't believe I waited 19 years to visit this restaurant for the first time. The experience was absolutely flawless, with delicious food and impeccable service. Everything was just perfect, and I will definitely be returning. Thank you to Jackie and Julian for a wonderful dining experience - it was a pleasure to meet you both.
