Really great service with a smile. We were well looked after. Would visit the House Martin again.

This is a really nice place, the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our requests for warming of the babies food.

I had the pork sunday roast it was disappointing: the meat was quite fatty, veg OK ish too much red cabbage but biggest issue only 3 very small roast potatoes!

Surprisingly good meal, although we felt too many vegetables for the Sunday roast. Some of the meals were not as hot As would be expected. Otherwise Would recommend To Any.

The large room with all the decoration was perfect for a meal where you wished and heard titration. The high ceiling added the sense of space. We regularly go to a meal with these friends and we were all positive about the restaurant.

The nut roast was a little dry and the vegetables were clearly precooked for all roasts and simply sitting in the kitchen waiting to be used. This means the casual atmosphere and the beautiful furnishings for a good place to catch up with friends. The staff was friendly and professional, we would recommend it to others, but perhaps only for drinks.

We thought we'd try Valentine's Day. They have spent money on refurbishment, which was well done, and it had nice touches, but we were very disappointed by the meal. Our appetizers were lukewarm and our steak was gristy. We were only asked if everything was okay when we paid and the answer we got for our disappointment was. I'm sorry. We paid 60 pounds for the meal and 3 drinks we didn't think was worth money. We will not return.

Overall good value. Service excellent. Restaurant area spacious, airy, and comfortable. My lunchtime starter prawn cocktail was not appetising. The lettuce garnish was limp, the solitary top prawn in its shell was so old/soft that I could not eat it. The size of the skinned prawns was more like shrimps. Not impressed at all. But, our main courses were excellent.. We had the chicken/ham hock pie and the fish pie. Both steaming hot and very tasty. Recommended. We would definitely return, and would recommend it as well worth a try.

I had a lovely time meeting up with a friend with great food, service and atmosphere. The one big dampener was being phoned the day after by House Martin, with the person telling me I left without having payed. I explained in as much detail as I could, how we did pay our bill which was split in two with both of us paying in cash. I also provided the time we left. This appeared to be accepted but I was then phoned again later in the day with another person making the same accusation. I again explained in detail and was asked if I could provide proof. I hadn't taken the receipt I never do) and having paid in cash had no other proof other then my word. I also said how it would be quite stupid t...
