Horseshoe Inn - Menu

This was a perfect lunch stop for our family while traveling to and from our holiday in Wales. Good food but lacking atmosphere.

It was a great option for lunch when on my way to Pembrokeshire. it is dog friendly with seats outdoors. The staff was very friendly.

The service at this restaurant was exceptionally friendly and efficient, with perfectly cooked food. The staff went above and beyond to make our grandson's 15th birthday celebration extra special. We left as happy customers!

Very disappointing after having good reports from other friends about how good the food was there. Started off with prawn cocktail which was ok roast beef dinner not very hot and beef tough and roast potatoes soggy. After waiting a long time had to ask for table to be cleared. After waiting again for dessert we left without ordering anything else.

I opted for 2 appetizers for a fast lunch choice. I was asked three times if the drink I ordered was a pint or half pint. I ordered the garlic stilton mushrooms, but this time there was no garlic or Stilton flavor. The duck arancini was very dry. When I mentioned this, the response was, "Different day, different chef maybe." I think I was charged for a pint even though I only had a half pint, as the bill was higher than expected. I am hesitant to return, sorry.

Every time we visit The Horseshoes, we are never disappointed. Darren and his staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is always delicious! I opted for the salmon today and it was absolutely amazing. My husband had the beef which he said was very tender. Even our little dog Tilly enjoyed her sausages. The pub has a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere and a lovely garden area perfect for sunny days. Whenever we come to Welshpool, we always make sure to stop by The Horseshoes, and we always leave full and happy. Definitely worth a visit, 5 stars all the way!

I am not one to review, but after reading the review below from onair557607. But her review is utter codswollop she hadn't booked at all, they were a walk in!!. She was rude, she grunted at the all staff and was constantly muttering under her breath. The food was amazing as always. Regarding the staff they do have a uniform, Darren is always considerate with this as running around in a busy pub that get hot, he always wants his staff to be comfortable when working. Booked table for midday Sunday lunch .Never been before ,we arrived and shown to the smallest table in the place . Ordered 2 prawn cocktails to start ,butters for bread were frozen ,also bread was very dry ,prawns were in a half pint beer mug .lettuce at the bottom was old and watery ,hardly any dressing . Oh dear things has to get better but they didn't. Booked for first time Sunday lunch for myself and my disabled mum who is in her 70s. We arrived and were seen by a male waiter who informed us our table wasn't yet ready which was fine but we were informed there was nowhere to sit inside with a drink whilst we waited. There were two empty tables by the bar so we presumed these were booked for diners about to arrive. We were told we could sit outside but this wasn't suitable for my mum so we sat in the car.
