"My family dined at a table outside in front of the restaurant. Our table was assigned a number, so when we placed our order at the counter, they knew where to bring our food. Two of us shared the mackerel and leek quiche and the classic cullen skink meals. We enjoyed drinks and the beautiful view as we waited for our food. The quiche arrived at room temperature, but when I asked a server about it, she explained that was how it was served. She kindly offered to heat it up for me, which I appreciated. The salad was fresh and tasty, accompanied by a side of creamy coleslaw and chips (similar to French fries). The chips were crispy and delicious. The cullen skink was like a rich potato soup with thin slices of potato, leeks, and smoked haddock. It was served with bread and butter. While nothing stood out as exceptional, everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. The staff was friendly and efficient, and we had a lovely evening in a charming small town in Scotland."

"We stayed one night at the waterfront to catch ferry to Ireland next morning we were given a room suppose to be a double but was so small we could not pass one and other as the double bed took up most of the room and very small tv at first we could not see a bathroom until we realised it was in the cupboard which you could hardly fit into and to sit on the toilet you had to reverse in as the sink was in the way luckily we are not to large as you would never manage if you squeezed into the shower you would have to open the concertina doors to get some room to dry yourself I will say it was clean but definitely not fit for purpose the public bar is so small and uncomfortable we went next door to a much bigger pub restaurant I am very sorry but can not recommend this to anyone"

"I had bought afternoon tea vouchers for my Mum and Granny for Christmas. The Colfin were fantastic and even extended the expiry date due to covid lockdown. Yesterday they finally got to use their vouchers and they had a fabulous afternoon! The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had originally been booked to attend too but with recent Covid restrictions, I had to cancel my place to which the Colfin were very understanding. Thank you for making this a lovely treat for them."

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."

"Just back from a wonderful 2night stay with our wee dog Betsy,she loved having her own private beach to belt along We had dinner on our 1st night which was amazing nothing to fault what so ever chef your amazing at creating such mouthwatering dishes The girls who served us and checked us in were so helpful and lovely even brought us tea in the morning to our room Breakfast was wonderful and cooked to perfection everything so tasty Can’t wait to return it was certainly worth the money Thank you Lynne& Phil Murton Xx"
