"A group of us stopped in here for a couple of sociable pints on what was a memorable day 's drinking. Ideally located on the doorstep of Lossiemouth 's East Beach, we sampled both the internal and external seating to take in some of the views. I definitely felt comfortable throughout my stay. The draught pints were part of a fine selection of world 'Beers ', the atmosphere was quiet but very inviting (peaceful), the staff were friendly and the cost of the rounds, although slightly expensive, were justifiable as we truly felt that we were in one of the town 's more upper market establishments. Although brief, this was a welcomed one hour stop during our day out. Fun had by all!"

"We arrived and the waiter gave us the menus cards but forgot to give us the drinks cards. We ordered starters only for the waitress to mistake our starters with the table besides us who arrived at least 10 minutes after us. The starters were good, my boyfriend took the Cullen risotto which was quite good so his main was fine ! But I took the fish and chips and was very disappointed. First of all the vegetables (peas and lettuce) weren’t seasoned at all, and the fish was just so greasy that it wasn’t good anymore. My boyfriend is a cook in France so he can guess those things and it seemed like the frying itself wasn’t that good quality speaking. I don’t really recommend this place, but the woman in charge of the restaurant was really nice and the place itself was quite warm and welcoming."

"We visit Lossiemouth every year and having used a different Chinese restaurant already the same week, thought we give the Thai Cottage a go. Instant regret. “Crispy Beef strips in Black Bean Sauce” was like sloppy beef fat in a sauce formed of nothing but oil. Sweet Sour chicken balls were HARD and super chewy, sweet and sour sauce tasted like someone had liquidised a bag of skittles and added a whole pack of sweeteners to it. Singapore chowmein was good, but that can’t make up for the two TERRIBLE dishes we also had."

"I 've been visiting this place for many years and in fact still refer to it, like many others do as what it was called back in the day. One of the main reasons for that is the standard of everything hasn 't changed, if anything, it 's got better 'with age ' Take this lunchtime for instance .. a few days ago I had a dish off the evening menu that was simply amazing (filet of salmon in a stunning wine, garlic, and prawn sauce) .. I was disappointed to find it wasn 't on the lunch menu, however, the chef happily cooked it again for me .. The views over the bay at West Beach are amazing, especially when the sun is out from the Veranda. Finally, with it pretty much in line with the main runway at Raf Lossiemouth, the opportunities to see some modern day fighter jets is pretty much assured! Keep up the great work everyone"

"I have only been once but certainly aim to go again. The quality of the food and the way in which it is presented clearly shows a passion for great service. The menu has many choices including a great Afternoon Tea option for adults and children alike. There are signs on the tables that say that service could take a little longer as everything is prepared fresh and although the service wasn't perhaps as quick as I would have liked, I certainly wouldn't let that deter me from future visits. In their defence, it was busy with no spare tables."
