"We always order from White Horse in Gloucester but unfortunately they were closed due to flooding. We ordered a delivery from here and firstly noticed it was in a bag half the size of our usual takeaway albeit a bit cheaper (although after they had added the delivery charge on it was the same). The portions were tiny but it didnt matter as the food was disgusting. The rice was an odd colour and congealed. The sweet and sour chicken contained more peppers than chicken, crispy chilli beef wasn't crispy and the chicken chow mein bland. I called the restaurant twice, the first time put on hold before I could utter a word then cut off and the second time the phone just rang and rang. The ONLY positive was the friendly delivery girl. Just awful, inedible slop. Avoid this place at all cost."

"we can't owe the wonderful meal and service we had last week on Thursday night when we came together. thanks to dawn, the cook, for the delicious and generous portions and on aaron and josh for the attentive and friendly table and bar service. I had brilliant feedback about everything. some of the dishes that received a special mention were the sweet chili salmon, bark brisket and lemon posset. thanks again for a wonderful evening."

"I visited the restaurant today at 2:30 PM for a roast and wasn't served until around 3:35 PM. There was a huge queue at the bar, and I waited about 30 minutes to be served. When the food finally arrived, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the gravy, so naturally, by that time, all the food had gone cold. I definitely won't be returning. Price per person: £20–30. Food: 2/5. Service: 2/5. Atmosphere: 4/5."

"This beautiful pub is much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside! The service is very quick, and they offer delightful little extras, like mulled wine in the winter. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable about their menu. We had dinner here, and the food was fantastic. The team is genuinely friendly and eager to recommend their favorite dishes, especially the desserts! During the summer, the steps leading up to the bar are packed with smokers, and the parking lot tends to be busy on weekends. It's definitely worth the effort to visit."

"I opted for the meal deal, which offered a two-course dinner along with a drink and breakfast the next day for just £24.99. I had a generous mixed grill that included steak, chicken wings, and breast, paired with an incredibly tasty mac and cheese topped with slow-cooked brisket, fries, smoked sausage, and coleslaw—everything was fantastic! For starters, I had calamari with a dip, which was just right, and for just £2, I got to choose a dessert. Overall, it was a wonderful evening with excellent service, and I really enjoyed the relaxed breakfast the next day. Well done, The Twelve Bells; we will definitely be returning!"
