"Dürnsteinerhof, or Dürnsteiner Hof, typically refers to a family-run guesthouse or inn located in the quaint village of Dürnstein, in Austria 's Wachau Valley. Dürnstein itself is renowned for its charming medieval ambiance, its vineyards, and the nearby Danube River. The guesthouse would likely be characterized by its traditional Austrian architecture, with sloped roofs, wooden shutters, and pastel-colored facades. These types of inns are often adorned with flower boxes in the summer and nestled among cobblestone streets. It would provide cozy, comfortable lodging, designed to offer a homely and welcoming experience to visitors. Guests may describe it as peaceful and intimate, with rooms offering picturesque views of the surrounding hills, vineyards, or even the ruins of the famous Dürnstein Castle, where Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned. The guesthouse could include a small courtyard or garden where guests can relax, taking in the peaceful village atmosphere. In addition to accommodations, a place like Dürnsteinerhof would likely serve local wines and traditional Austrian cuisine, either in a cozy dining room or outdoor terrace. Many guesthouses in the Wachau Valley region pride themselves on offering a taste of local wine culture, as the area is known for its white wines, particularly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Dürnsteinerhof would be a great base for exploring the scenic Wachau Valley, with its rich history, vineyards, and views of the Danube River. Tourists staying here are likely to enjoy easy access to hiking, cycling, or riverboat tours along the Danube, and, of course, the opportunity to explore the village of Dürnstein with its charming historic streets and beautiful baroque architecture."

The service was great. When the turkey salad arrived it looked great, and also tasted great. The restaurant only accepts cash, and the only Bankautomat in the town charges €2 for withdrawals Voir le carte

We stopped here for lunch during a bike tour of the Wachau Valley. The atmosphere is outstanding. A great Courtyard dining experience. The food was very good and the service was prompt allowing us to get back on the road quickly. They also had local...musicians strolling the tables for our entertainment.

What a really great little restaurant!!! Brilliant and friendly staff and service that matches...the meals we had were absolutely brilliant with really good size portion. It would be very difficult to find any fault. Certainly beats the heck out of every other restaurant I've eaten...at in Europe so far and on the outside it just looks like a little average Bistro!!! The food, service and atmosphere is amazing!

Excellent food , great service ! . this is a traditional Austrian restaurant , try the Wiener schnitzel , goulash , boiled beef , to be perfectly honest all the food tasted lovely ! . the only let down i found , was the american...tourists that were very loud and not courteous to our waiter , this did rather upset me as the waiter was trying so hard to serve them and took the time to help them . But other than this , forget the other places to eat ! . This is the one that serves the best food and drinks , and as for the service , outstanding ! .

"First, a bit of backstory: my wife and I were hiking (on our first ever visit to the Wachau) from Weissenkirchen towards Spitz through the vineyards and forest; not a tough walk but as it happened, very hot, sunny and tiring. After an hour or...so I started feeling strangely dizzy perhaps a consequence of another long hot hike the day before and decided to cut the walk short by heading down to Wosendorf. By the time we reached the village I could hardly stand without reeling, and we asked a passing couple if they knew of a cafe or bar nearby. They simply pointed out that we were right next to a very good restaurant (which we hadn’t noticed). So we went in, mainly in search of rest and some kind of sustenance, liquid and solid. We had not expected to spend 115 euros for a bite to eat on our walk, but we never regretted our visit to the Hofmeisterei Hirtzberger for one minute. Notwithstanding our sweaty hiking attire, sticks and rucksacks we were at once made welcome in the shady garden terrace by the very efficient and friendly staff, and soon found ourselves enjoying a superb lunch that relaxed and rehydrated me and helped us forget about my unfortunate brief crisis. I started with a delicious white tomato soup; given the heat, I expected something gazpacho like but it was warm and no less refreshing for all that. We then both went for a venison dish cooked in two different ways: one roasted to perfection with a lovely accompaniment of shiitake mushroom, pearl barley and peach, the other a kind of mini casserole as a side bowl. Wow! So rich! Then we shared a dark chocolate, raspberry and coconut dessert which made for a perfect finish. Two glasses of very superior Gruner Veltliner, an espresso, a couple of soft drinks and some lovely breads before the meal a really fine summer lunch which revived me completely under the circumstances but which I’d have been exceptionally pleased with anyway. The garden is by a main ish road though not so you’d notice much. This is not a place for cheap eats, but for very fine food and wine it is wholly reasonable. We agreed we may never have had a finer venison main, and my soup was special. Wholly recommended, even though it doesn’t seem to appear in the local tourist leaflets. Is that because it’s not in one of the more touristy villages? Or because (despite using great local produce) it’s a little ‘adventurous’? Who cares? Check it out if you can..."
