Cote Brasserie Winchester

The first restaurant we visited on a short holiday. Dreadful weather cold and wet. Meal would have been nicer if it had been served on hot plates, not stone-cold ones. Food was ok.

Lovely evening. Delicious food. Attentive and friendly waiter-he sensed it was my husbands birthday, put a candle in his sweet and deducted the price of the sweet from the bill. Excellent experience. Can thoroughly recommend.

We often visit this restaurant as my family live in Winchester and we’re never disappointed. We’ve eaten twice here in the last few months, once at lunchtime and the other time in the evening and the service is always first class. The food is delicious...too. It’s clean and feels very safe. First visit to Cote, Winchester . Really enjoyed it. I am not very mobile at the moment and use a crutch. We were offered a lovely table within reach of the accessible toilet. There are entrances to the restaurant so easy to avoid the...steps. Great food the crab starter was enough for me as a main meal. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Good value for money too.

We have always walked past Cote but have always been too nervous to go in as it looks like a fancy place and we are just students but we decided to brave it and booked ourselves in for brunch. The prices for what you get...are perfect, as we couldn’t fault the delicious food in any way. Staff were all very friendly and the service was great! We are hoping to return to try the evening menu!

My wife and I are quite regular visitors to Cote Winchester and make it our weekend breakfast venue, either on the Saturday or Sunday. So yes the manager and staff do know us due to being regular visitors and if possible they always try and...reserve us our favorite table in the window. The last time we visited after Christmas we again had a fantastic experience in friendly, professional and attentive customer care. We went for a birthday lunch on Saturday February the floor around our table was dirty it looked like they had swiped crumbs off the table. The waitress was wearing a sleeveless top and kept reaching over me instead of walking around the...table which she could of done easily. Instead on numerous occasions I had to face sweaty armpit on all courses. We had a nice starter but our main dinner had cold uncooked chips to which we notified the waitress. We had finished our main dinner they then brought us our overcooked chips without a word of an apology Appalling day will definitely not be back.

Came for an evening meal with friends, atmosphere was nice, busy. Now for the not-so-good. Two of us had the beetroot starter, which featured a thimble full of the billed goats cheese cream and almost no hazelnuts (running low in the kitchen So really just...paying for one of the cheapest vegetables you can buy, warm and in a dressing. Poulet grille main was definitely tasty but again the potato gratin it was meant to come with I could have eaten in three forkfuls. Portions feel like a prix fixe lunch time special price menu and not a la carte. Other negatives: filthy loos, really in a restaurant??

I visited for lunch with a friend on a Friday. They offer a very good fixed-price menu (two courses three courses We both chose wild mushroom soup, with sourdough toast, followed by a rare ribeye steak supplement) with french fries and watercress....This was a superb piece of meat, the best I have eaten for quite a while. It was also perfectly cooked rare, as ordered. They do not offer any draught beer, but there is a good selection of bottled beers/cider available. I chose a French lager. We ended with two excellent, but somewhat small , Americano coffees. The lunch was very good value in a pleasant location. Note that an (optional) service charge is automatically added to your bill.
