"Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped! and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule . Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us , but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again."

"Having lived in Turkey for many years it is wonderful to have found somewhere that serves real Turkish food close to home. The staff are all welcoming, caring and wonderful with the children. We have visited for Birthdays and again staff have made the event special. Don't hesitate to treat yourself and pay a visit, you won't be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: Always make a fuss of the children, make sure that they have everything that they need. On a recent visit one child didn't order as they were not hungry then changed their mind, food was prepared quickly for them even though the restaurant was busy."

"We didn't stay rather we just had dinner in the restaurant. The food was fabulous and I would highly recommend it. We were lucky in our reservation as I guess there had been a cancellation, but we were traveling back to South Wales from Birmingham and wanted to stop off en route. We had heard about The Walnut Tree previously so as there was an opening for the evening, we decided this would be a great stopping off point. Each course was fabulous, and for a Michelin restaurant, you was (in our humble opinion) reasonable, but that's not to say cheap. The location of the restaurant is a little out of the way, but if you are staying here, I'm sure it would be great. Tbh, whilst we had read about the restaurant previously we were unaware of its Michelin star until the following day. It was clear that this was a great restaurant though. Highly recommended. Food drinks: Fabulous!"

"My parents and I came here for dinner tonight to end up being thoroughly disappointed with our experience. I will begin by stating that the food was lovely especially the spaghetti and fish soup for starters. However, the service is below average and truly appalling. We reserved a table for the restaurant 2 days before coming only to find out that they never took down our reservation in the first place (this was the first disappointing thing out of many things to come). While they sat us for dinner still, the mains took around 45 minutes to come after our starters. There was no sauce available with the steak I asked for bernaise sauce, which is pretty standard for steak (especially for the price you’re paying at the Hardwick). We also ordered chocolate ice cream for dessert after giving the dessert menu they came back after 20 minutes to take our order and when we asked for the ice cream flavours, they had to bring us a separate ice cream menu this in itself took another 20 minutes. All of this was for nothing though they forgot our ice cream order and we had to look for the staff to tell them to cancel the order and bring our bill. The most disappointing thing out of all of this is that after we payed our bill we were about to leave and a waitress came running while we were in the car and accused us of not paying. We had to tell her that of course, we did pay, and she had failed to acknowledge the mishaps that happened on the restaurants’ part until we brought it up, only for her to say a brief sorry. My father went inside again just to clarify that we had paid (we knew we had, but we did it for our own conscience). This was beyond insulting for us given we ordered a great deal of food and wine. I was shocked that we were insulted to this extent. Again, I will reiterate that the food was lovely. But given how poor our experience was and the premium charged on the food, I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone and will not be looking to come back again. Something is seriously wrong and there needs to be serious reflection."

"We had an absolutely fabulous dinner at The Cinnamon Tree last Thursday evening. The staff were great and nothing was too much for them. The food was divine, a little too much for us to finish, so they happily gave us a box to take away leftovers home. Thank you guys, you have a little gem of a restaurant. 10 out of 10. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
