"The waitress wasn't very friendly and when I asked if the house wine was a dry wine, she told me (in a very curt manner) that it was just house wine. When I asked what the house wine was, she replied (again with a condescending tone of voice) , that it was just house wine. She then got somewhat frustrated and merely placed the wine menu in my hands. The wine menu clearly stated that the house wine was a dry, fruity Compte wine. My elderly mother had pea and mint soup (but she could not taste the mint) and a dry piece of stoneground bread, with no butter. The lunch was meant to be a treat for her and was quite disappointing. The other two meals were fine but not very exciting. I haven't visited Cafe Rouge for many, many years and was looking forward to it, but I don't think I'll be coming again."

Had a lovely meal at Cafe rouge on Sunday night. I had the Christmas set menu which is very reasonably priced. I changed my desert on the set menu to something on the Main menu and it wasn’t a problem for the staff and I wasn’t charged a premium. Will be returning and thanks for a lovely evening!

dinner with the family, really nice eating and personal. we used to get used to and will go back. many thanks to the personal for a place they can rely on. on December 30th again to dinner, excellent dinner at about 6 o'clock. the eating was very well presented and hot. service excellent, some of the other places should go to eat and see how it is done. best burger, which I had long been on site, thanks many and we will see each other soon.

"I have regularly attended the three oaks and still think it is the best restaurant in the local area. However in this instance there were a few issues; No provision of outdoor heating when paying circa £80 head for a meal I’m sure they could supply some sort of outdoor heating? Steak at £28 was not that impressive Tasty steak, but very small and high fat content/gristly nothing special and just accompanied with basic french fries, not their triple cooked Chips Partners main was a bit small Starter was nice but normal pub food Overall the experience wasn’t as good as in the past, menu a bit basic and when it is so expensive here, you expect them to raise the bar a little more? "Having read good reviews I visited here with my wife. We were seated quickly and given menus. Very quickly we were given pickles/dips on an assumption that we wanted popadoms….. which meant we felt awkward and we had to say yes and order some, when we didn’t really want them. After that it took a long time for our order to be taken, although the food came in good time. The food itself was very average. The curry sauces seemed ‘gloopy’ and the meat on the bone was poor quality, albeit tasty. Through the meal my wife and I struggled to hear each other, largely due to the general noise levels. It was a Saturday night so some of the guests were a bit loud, but to be fair, not rowdy. The problem is the acoustics of the restaurant. The staff were lovely through the whole meal and the prices were fine,"

"My family and I celebrated my mother's 81st birthday with lunch at this restaurant. The starters were delightful and most of the main courses were tasty, although the beef was a bit tough for the older members of our group. The staff kindly offered free coffees to those who ordered the beef as compensation. It was a busy atmosphere when we visited in the afternoon, so it's possible the beef had been sitting out for a while. Despite this, we had an enjoyable experience overall."

"Our go-to local Thai restaurant! This hidden gem in Denham serves a delicious range of Thai bites, curries and stir-fries, all available in vegetable, meat and seafood variants. "The food we enjoyed was delicious and fairly priced! Three of us had steak and chips, while one ordered chicken legs with chips. All the portions were generous, and the chicken was particularly filling, with just the right amount of spicy kick to it. For dessert, we had sticky toffee ginger pudding. Although it wasn’t your typical sticky toffee pudding, the large sponge was still very tasty and quite enjoyable. My only real critique would be the small serving of custard or ice cream that accompanied the dessert. I definitely need to remember to take photos next time!"
