"I have eaten here previously a couple of times around a year ago and it was just basic pub grub so when my friends suggested meeting here again as its central for us all I wasn't expecting much. Upon arrival car park was pretty full and all the socially distanced tables were full. The interior has obviously had a makeover too as it looks great. We sat at our table and the server took our orders and was very attentive ensuring we had plenty of drinks etc and assisting my fussy friend in her menu choice. We did wait a while for the food but as I said it was busy so thats understandable and we had a chance to talk. When the food came out my eyes nearly popped out of my head at the beautiful presentation and portion size and I could wait to dig in...I was not disappointed! I had slow cooked beef brisket chilli topped with sour cream and smashed avocado and it was probably the best chilli I have ever eaten in a restaurant...beautiful flavours and fresh ingredients. I was pretty full but thought I'd better give the dessert menu a look and went for the toffee apple crumble with crunchie ice cream as it sounded lovely and autumnal....again the presentation was amazing and it was divine, I loved the apple crisp it was a lovely finishing touch. It was very reasonable too I paid £20 for those 2 courses and they were worth every penny. I have told all my friends and relations how great it was and I will definitely be returning very soon unless we go into lockdown again. I understand there is a new chef...well done you have exceeded my expectations and converted me. Also well done to the serving staff for being well trained, polite and knowledgeable about the ingredients of the dishes on the menu. See you again soon Blue Boar."

Just came in for the burger special. Omg what a deal. Two 8oz steak burgers for£15. Both burgers were beyond expectations every part of them was thought through and executed to such a high standard.

I had a highly enjoyable lunch with excellent service from very friendly staff. The food was very well presented and delicious. I was also impressed by how seriously they were taking the current Covid situation.

Large Pub which I believe has been recently refurbished, very nice child friendly garden, good place to meet up with friends for a drink, on the evening I visited the Cook must have been having an off day as the food was pretty poor .

I felt very safe in terms of Covid precautions at this restaurant. The staff were outstanding and the food was delicious with a great selection at very affordable prices. Thank you for a fantastic evening, I will definitely be returning soon.

I come here for dinner all the time and this is my local place to drink and eat and but Simon who works here is always working under pressure and still provides amazing service, he really is the core of a great team : can’t recommend this place enough! Simon is a diamond of a man !!

We had another fantastic meal at The Blue Boar. The atmosphere was quiet due to COVID regulations, but we still enjoyed our experience. The food surpassed typical pub standards with excellent presentation and delicious flavors. The Doom Bar on tap was a particularly enjoyable treat!

Visited blue boar for dinner with family and friends there was 21 of us, the menu was not the one we had previously had, so we asked if it was possible to change. The bar manager Denise was absolutely fantastic, she spoke to the chef and arranged additions to the menu. Service was excellent especially considering the number in our group. Would definitely recommend.

We were staying near by at a local hotel and walked down to this pub for some dinner. The restaurant was busy but luckily managed to squeeze in a table for us. The food on offer was a short menu but in reality perfect as it was home made food, stylish and different from your usual pub menu choices. Throughly enjoyed the meal and would recommend. We have a small baby with us and as we were leaving the evening music started to begin which sounded good but unfortunately our lives have changed with a tiny baby so time for us to head home! Good meal and good atmosphere! Thanks
