Great Experience Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Abeno. Awesome food, tasted awesome. If you want authentic Japanese food come here. Matthew was awesome, cooked some amazing okonomiyaki and was always helpful when I needed another beer or more food! Thanks alot to Abeno for...an awesome evening. I will be back!

so beautiful to find authentic okonomiyaki outside of japan! it is a small, intimate restaurant and eating is delicious. prices are what they would expect in london, and the service was nice and friendly. for the starter they sit around a hot dish and that is eating. prepared directly before them. a lot of choices are offered on the menu, and we left with our bells full.

When I made the booking I made a note that I was celebrating a 50th birthday and as it was my husbands first time at this restaurant, I requested an entertaining/ experience cook. My husband asked the manager for recommendations but he just reeled off...the menu. Our cook didn’t say more than two words to us the entire time. Food was fine but very overpriced considering most of it was cooked in the kitchen!

Very nice place and lovely staff. The waiters are all very kind and knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients they also cook the okonomiyaki in front of you and explain what are the ingredients. They greet you in Japanese and treat you very gently....We ordered an okonomiyaki and omusoba both with pork, squid and shrimps, and both amazing. As if we were in Japan. Also we got tuna and pork nigiri, and a creme mochi dessert with fruits, all from the season and only japanese. The bill was fair. We will definitely go back :D

What can I say… I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years when they were established in Covent Garden. Not been since they closed and moved location so we decided to come back again for our anniversary. It didn’t disappoint!! The food was...amazing as always! Fresh and cooked in front of you. This is one of my top favourite restaurants in London. Love it here. The restaurant itself doesn’t look like much from the outside and it is indeed in need of a little TLC, but don’t be put off! You’ll love it here. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Since I first heard about okonomiyaki and found this restaurant online I had hyped up my visit in my head . It truly did not disappoint , the staff were ultra friendly , welcoming , informative and attentive whilst thoroughly explaining the concept . Having...your food cooked in front of you at your table was a great experience to watch it develop from ingredients to ready to eat . And the food ? Just blew me away .. incredibly delicious and filling .. I couldn’t wait to come back and indeed I did .. 2 days later with my family .. quite a recommendation as I live over 100 miles away . An amazing experience and first class food .. you will love it.. 11 out of 10 !!

this is a small, clean, No-Frills restaurant that offers a warm welcome, charming service and extremely tasty food. if they don't know what an Okonomi-yaki is, they are for a tasty bite! our experience in abeno last year was so good that we felt like a repetition. I worked and lived in japan many years ago and her okonomiyaki is as good as it is, outside japans. I should add that it is made in her table, so it is a (nice) part of the experience to talk to the person who makes her okonomiyaki. at this opportunity we had the osaka and tokio okonomiyaki. last time we had the small size, but this time we went for big, very filled! the spinach cheese was a little less delicious. the impression I had last time was that their okonomiyaki are much better than the other courts certainly regarding the worth and this sense was reinforced at this second visit. the chicken carnage was no...

The food was good and having it cooked in front of you is something different and a nice experience, however I was not able to eat my noodles until they were cold, as the waiter was almost elbowing me in the face while cooking my...friends’ food – the table was clearly too small for 6 people. What ruined the evening though, was that, towards 7.45pm, the waitress asked us to pay, and rushed us in doing so, because apparently they needed the table for another customer. Our booking, however, was until 9pm. She insisted that since we arrived early, they had given us a different table which needed to be left earlier.
