"Really beautiful room, nicely decorated and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was a great price. Only couple of downsides were no onsite parking, however there is a pay and display very close where 24 hour parking was about £5 and also a residential road where we parked for free. There is also no breakfast in the pub. We were recommended the cafe across the road so there is an option for food if wanted. Would 100% stay again."

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."

"We were staying at the adjacent Premier Inn and had booked a meal package where you get a 2 course dinner and a breakfast for £25 per person. Upon arrival I overheard a member of staff saying that they were only going to serve people who had a meal package because they were running out of food considering it was only 8pm on a Friday, I thought this was odd. The menu itself is fine IF you are a meat eater, and do not have any food allergies! I have to follow a Gluten Free diet and was given a really small menu with very limited choices, and as I am also a Vegetarian this left me with one option, which I was then told wasn't available. (Two other dishes our group ordered also weren't available. The staff were very embarrassed and apologetic, they scoured the ingredients list to see if they could offer any alternative but the only option for me was a bowl of Tomato Soup not ideal. The staff were doing all they could to accommodate, Izzy in particular was brilliant, but with limited supplies and restricted menu's, I expected more from such a well established corporation and won't be rushing back anytime soon."

"Have eaten here many time because I like the way the chef combines unusual flavours with a Spanish twist. However, I doubt I will be returning. The reason is, when I returned the Gambas Rojas because the stench of 'gone off ' prawns was so strong (and baring in mind prawns are my favourite dish and I 've eaten them in every way, in many places so I 'd like to think I wasn 't a fussy prawn customer), the staff couldn 't care less. I spoke to 2 waitresses about the fact I was unable to eat the very expensive dish and both gave a very unresponsive reply that said they couldn 't care less and neither would the chef, just give us your money and go. Not once did they offer the chef to make an alternative dish or anything. It felt like I was part of the fast show! Just pay the bill and clear the table for the next person."

"Very slow service. Very limited menu. Poor value for money. We ordered bread and olives for the table. We received a small bowl of olives, three slices of sourdough bread (for 4 diners? and some flavoured butter no plates or butter knives. The menu had recently changed and was more limited than the summer menu. The only vegetarian main dish was unavailable, as it had apparently not been prepped. The chicken and leek pie had been heavily flavoured with a herb (tarragon? which was not mentioned on the menu, and which gave it a very strong liquorice/aniseed flavour. The pie itself was very big, and generously filled, but very much more leek than chicken, and the chicken appeared to be thigh rather than breast meat. The haddock and chips was generous, but the skin had been left on the fish. The single dessert ordered (rice pudding had an excessive amount of topping which overpowered the flavour of the rice. Service took so long that we were at our table for well over two hours."

"My family and I visited Caption Digby for a birthday celebration on a Sunday and had an excellent experience. The service was exceptional with all staff being friendly, patient, and accommodating. They were very attentive to our younger family member who has allergies, ensuring that their needs were met and providing safe options. The bar staff were also great and the food was delicious. We often choose this restaurant for family gatherings because of the fantastic soft play area for the kids to enjoy while we wait. Overall, we have always had positive experiences here. Tracey and her team provided excellent customer service, always greeting us with a smile and being helpful. The food was worth every penny. I highly recommend this restaurant for family events, especially if you have young children. A special thank you to Tracey for rewarding the kids with chocolate after they cleaned up the soft play area. They loved it!"

"We made a reservation for afternoon tea to celebrate our daughter's upcoming wedding with a group of seven. The hotel's atmosphere is traditional and elegant, with china tea sets, silverware, and decorative ornaments in the room. The tea is served on a veranda by staff dressed in classic black and white uniforms who are very friendly. The tea included delicious crustless sandwiches with fresh bread and tasty fillings, as well as excellent scones with high-quality cream and jam. The cakes offered were either chocolate brownie or lemon, both tasty but not particularly unique. They also offer a selection of English tea or alcohol. Despite not being as upscale as some London hotels, the price of £18.50 is very reasonable and much less than what you would pay in London. The hotel and dining room have a charming and delightful atmosphere, making it a great choice for afternoon tea."

"My son is and just learning the joys of Chinese Take away, but having been to China, I keep saying to him... no, this isn't it. He says, but this is nice, and say no, its samey and slopey and not fresh and then...we found The New China Inn and now he knows. Lovely big juicy prawns, sticky ribs obviously from the butchers not from a packet, sauce that is homemade, asparagus, non greasy noodles, lovely crispy duck, it was just lovely. I knew we were on to a winner when they said, of our order for the two of us, that is quite a large order, it might take a while, because that meant they were making it fresh and when it came, it really was SO fresh. That was not defrost microwave, grease ball and I can see that from the next day because the left overs in the fridge are not fatty goo, they are still healthy lovely homecooked food. It was also less cost than other places we have been . From one parent to another. I truly recommend this. What I would say is a) crispy seaweed was too sweet and b) get yourself some biodegradable eco friendly packaging and thats it.. you WIN, you're the best in town. x"

"I have dined at this restaurant twice now, once for Sunday roast and again tonight. The Sunday roast was amazing with plenty of roast pork, delicious pork crackling, Yorkshire pudding, and excellent roast potatoes. All the vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. Tonight I had the liver, onions, and bacon dish which was superb and very filling. My wife ordered the scampi and chips, which was also excellent, and my daughter had the lasagna which was superb as well. They have a great selection of beer at reasonable prices. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!"

"We popped in for a cup of tea and decided to stay for Sunday Lunch. We are really happy we did, the food was lovely. We both had a Sunday Roast Beef Lunch, which was served piping hot, with plenty of meat, gravy and vegetables, my husband also had a dessert Apple Crumble with Custard which was also very good. It has been a few years since we last dined here, the Hotel Restaurant has now been completely refurbished to a very good standard The Restaurant was spotlessly clean, also the toilets are now updated, very clean and very much improved since our last visit. On arrival we had a friendly greeting from Grahame who was working in the San Clu Reception. Zoe was our waitress, she was a breath of fresh air, cheerful, friendly, happy to help, she answered all our questions re our food orders, and she even sang a little song as she disappeared into the kitchen. After todays visit we would be happy to recommend the San Clu Restaurant to our friends family, we fully intend to return in the near future."

"Having sailed to Ramsgate in June had a fantastic meal there with our crew. On return home told my wife of fantastic meal. Returned with wife in July and spent both nights having fantastic meals at this restaurant, The food was great, the service was great and yet all provided at excellent value for money. If in or around Ramsgate i highly recommend this restaurant and strongly advise get cooked in . Thanks so much."

"Had a table with a view of an amazing sunset over Margate harbour arm. Not much ambiance in the restaurant as only 2 tables were occupied. Our waiter was very obliging and patient. Starters were tasty. My mains rack of lamb was perfectly cooked as the chef really listened to how I wanted it cooked. My husbands baked aubergines were under cooked unfortunately. Desserts were delicious. Strange that there was no fish on the menu, and the wine list was quite limited. However, will definitely return and will recommend to friends."

"After a dazzling afternoon of sunshine in glorious Margate, we completely lucked out by bagging a table at this exceptional restaurant in Margate's old town. The menu had plenty of fish and meat/poultry dishes, with mussels in a mildly spiced curry suitably impressing my partner,...while I chose the vegetarian main of roasted vegetable linguine. Both main courses were absolutely delicious, provoking plenty of comments to each other on quite how good the food was. Despite the generosity of the mains, we couldn't resist ordering desserts a great cheese platter and a light and delicate apple tart with ice cream. I made the mistake of offering some of the apple tart to my other half, and promptly watched it disappear! The decor and atmosphere in this laid back restaurant, along with the friendly welcome, made for a superb evening. We will certainly be back!"

"the renter has booked this meal at short notice, the renter was very accommodating and our party of 5 booked for the afternoon. the pub has its own parking spaces that are good. we had a drink in the bar area and then went to the restaurant for our meal. this is probably the most beautiful Sunday roast I had in a very long time. the yorkshire pudding was amazing! rounded off with a great selection at dessert, we all decided for the spotted **** and custard, pudding was like old school days lol. the meal was hot, much beside vegetables simply delish. barry was cooked in the kitchen, but he came out to talk to the customers. all this was reasonable. 1. visit, but definitiw not the last"

"we visited little ships restaurant and I must say that we both had a very pleasant meal. it was a warm evening, so we sat out to eat our meal. we were greeted and informed about the protocol re covid. then the waiter came back after he had given us a little while to relax. the menu itself was extensive enough to ensure a wide range of gaumen. we ordered the fish and chips that were fresh cod and wonderful cooked crispy and yet fluffy medium chips. it was nicely plated, the fish was a good size and everything went quite well. we shared a dessert that was a doughnut, stuffed with an ice cream flavor of a selection given and with tiny marshmallows. Well, what I can do, we enjoyed it too. it was a wonderful meal, the staff was friendly, fast service, clean facilities and we would definitely return for another meal."

"A basic mistake lead to a breakfast not being so good. I ordered a breakfast, and twice asked to swap beans for an extra egg. The counter girl made numerous attempts to translate this to the cook, unfortunately he did not understand. Breakfast did arrive, quite quickly, but without the change asked for. The server left the toast with me,and by the time the new breakfast arrived the toast was cold. This was a basic service error, but cold toast is not acceptable, and due to their lack of language skills I really could not bring myself to complain. Shame,as the quality of the other ingredients, and the preparation would otherwise have resulted in a much higher rating."

"We visit this beach and cafe every year in memory of my grandad that passed away we have never had a problem in all the years we have been coming here until yesterday! Me and my sister sat down at a table while our mum was going to order the food for us me and my sister gave our children something to eat at it was lunch time and they were hungry no where in the cafe does it say you can’t consume any food or drink from outside the cafe so we didn’t think we were doing any wrong this man walked passed us 5/y times before walking over to the other side of the cafe and shouted at us ‘PUT THAT AWAY’ my sister asked what he meant and he said ‘that food I don’t want it in my restaurant’ ok I get that he might not of wanted them to have the food in there but he could of come over to us and ask us politely and not in front of the whole cafe! It made us feel very on edge because then everyone started looking at us! It didn’t stop there so my mum had ordered the food by this point and then we was waiting for our food the food came out and it was cold, the cheese wasn’t melted in the toasties it looked like that had just put to pieces of toast together with some cheese and onion (the price they charge they should be doing the toasties properly) my mum took them up to the counter and asked for help the staff member was so rude to my mum and was really arguing with her for no reason so my mum asked for the manager the manager came over and was really helpful she apologised to my mum for her staff member arguing and kindly gave my mum a refund I am so disappointed in this experience as we have never had a problem in all the years we have been coming! I would never give a bad review but this time I feel like it needs it!"

"Visited here with my friend for lunch on the 16th Aug. We found a decent table outside, chairs were very uncomfortable. Music playing was reminiscent of a Greek taverna but became annoying as it was on a stereo played on a loop. All the sandwiches come with chips except the crab because, i was told “it’s quite a plateful”. I went ahead and ordered the white crab and lemon mayo open sandwich which at £12.50 I had high expectation of. Together with a glass of cheap tap lemonade and a small bottle of Perroni lager it came to £20.00! Sandwich was truly awful and certainly not a plateful. When I’ve had an open sandwich at other places, I’ve had both slices of bread just open with filling on both. I basically paid for one slice of bread, half a plate of various lettuce leaves and red onion, no other salad, and what can only be described as a splop of crab. The bread was tasteless and had a thick layer of the lemon mayo, the beautiful taste of the crab was completely lost in a sickly mix of more mayo. Could not taste the crab at all, what a shame. When you have crab leave it as it is, do not swamp it’s beautiful flavour in mayonnaise. It could also have been any part of the crab meat, white or brown, it was so drowned you could not tell. My friend had the applewood cheese and chutney sandwich, with chips. The first plate that came was a dry, seeded bread with very little cheese, a vague spread of what looked more like pesto and a slice of tomato. She queried this because at £9.00 it really wasn’t up to standard (photos don’t show it particularly well). A fresh plate was brought out and was much better thick plain soft brown bread nice filling of cheese and you could make out the chutney. However, the grated cheese tasted no different to a mature cheddar you could get at Tesco. No hint of any other flavour so who’s to know. On the whole we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun but the rest of the experience was very poor. Whilst in the ladies loo, another lady was saying it had been terrible they’d had to get a refund on a food order which, despite chasing the staff, never turned up. The Albion used to be a good place to get a good range of food. Now it’s just another place trying to be too fancy and is way to expensive for what you get. Will certainly not be going back here for food."
