"A basic mistake lead to a breakfast not being so good. I ordered a breakfast, and twice asked to swap beans for an extra egg. The counter girl made numerous attempts to translate this to the cook, unfortunately he did not understand. Breakfast did arrive, quite quickly, but without the change asked for. The server left the toast with me,and by the time the new breakfast arrived the toast was cold. This was a basic service error, but cold toast is not acceptable, and due to their lack of language skills I really could not bring myself to complain. Shame,as the quality of the other ingredients, and the preparation would otherwise have resulted in a much higher rating."

The girl serving doesn't even look at you she just slams your food down without saying a word. Although the food is okay and a good price I still expect to be greeted with a smile

Made up my own breakfast today, large sausage, 2x bacon, 2x eggs, 2 x hash brown and bread and butter. Cost £6.80, and this included a bottle of mineral water, quite a bargain. Polite and fast service, comfy cafe, nice decor.

I ordered a cooked breakfast for myself, and my partner had two poached eggs on toast. We also got a coffee and a bottle of water, all for just over £9, which we found to be reasonably priced. The quality of the food was average, the service was quick, and everything went smoothly.

A late lunch, nice food served quickly, and at a reasonable price. Gammon Eggs and Chips, a tasty medium size gammon steak, cooked well, and Chilli Con Carne and Chips, good sized portion, chips nice and fresh. £12+ including two bottles of iced water, reasonable value for good food.

While passing through Westgate, we decided to try the Beano cafe for a change. I ordered a large breakfast which was well presented. My wife had Ham, Egg, and Chips, which were all acceptable and the portions were large. We were served with a bottle of water and a cup of tea, and still had change from £10.

The Beano Cafe Restaurant is the perfect place for a traditional breakfast at a fantastic price. The staff are always very friendly, and happily to adjust the menu to meet your requirements. The restaurant is always clean and hygienic. I’ve tried a few things from their large menu, but the mega breakfast is always a winner for me! 2 Sausages, 2 Eggs, Chips, Beans Toast with a tea or coffee for a fantastic £6!

During our visit to Westgate last week, my wife and I were recommended to try Beanos for breakfast. We had a pleasant experience, with a delicious cup of strong and hot tea. My wife also enjoyed her cappuccino, which was of good quality. She was unable to finish her breakfast, so I happily finished it for her. I even had fried bread for the first time in years, and it was delicious. We will definitely be returning to Beanos again.

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
