"The meal at this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was cold, even after we tried to warm it up again, and the same was true for the dessert."

"Visiting the Vue next door, we wanted a quick decent meal. Ask didn't disappoint. I had the small calamari to start, which was good and not overcooked. It needed a little salt though and I had to ask for condiments. Main was seafood linguine in a tomato sauce. This was good and plenty of seafood with good flavours. I did sample their chilli oil which is fabulous and has been noted for a future pizza visit! The icing on the cake was Tiramisu to finish. This was delicious and actually surprisingly light too! Top job! I would have given a 5 but little things like having to ask for condiments, no bowl to put the shells in from the seafood, maybe even a finger bowl?. These little details would have raised the bar. Overall though, very nice and won't disappoint. Good for a pre cinema meal!"

"After a dazzling afternoon of sunshine in glorious Margate, we completely lucked out by bagging a table at this exceptional restaurant in Margate's old town. The menu had plenty of fish and meat/poultry dishes, with mussels in a mildly spiced curry suitably impressing my partner,...while I chose the vegetarian main of roasted vegetable linguine. Both main courses were absolutely delicious, provoking plenty of comments to each other on quite how good the food was. Despite the generosity of the mains, we couldn't resist ordering desserts a great cheese platter and a light and delicate apple tart with ice cream. I made the mistake of offering some of the apple tart to my other half, and promptly watched it disappear! The decor and atmosphere in this laid back restaurant, along with the friendly welcome, made for a superb evening. We will certainly be back!"

"We had paid for a group afternoon tea to host my baby shower on the 29/06/24. Seeing as though I’d been here plenty of times before for drinks I assumed this would be the perfect location to host a baby shower. I couldn’t have been more wrong. To start with I had politely asked for a few specific sandwiches to have with our afternoon on the booking form I filled in prior to the event due to having quite a few fussy eaters within our group. Not one of the sandwiches I had asked for was provided. We did mention that most guests wouldn’t eat the salmon sandwiches that were provided and asked that we be given an alternative option. The owner said “we can make some up but you’ll be cutting in to your time and before you know it we’ll be chucking you out”. This wasn’t said in a light hearted manner, she was quite blunt and rude, along with other members of her staff. (Maybe you have to be rude to pass the interview process to work here). Although this was frustrating I was willing to leave it be as we was there to enjoy the planned event. However, it took staff 15-20 minutes after bringing out the sandwiches to start offering tea and coffee, which again wasn’t fantastic as they wasn’t writing down what people were ordering so were forgetting how many orders of each there were and were then being rude to members of my party when they were asking 15 minutes later if they could have their coffee. Next joke.. their afternoon tea advertisements states “a selection of homemade cakes and treats”, couldn’t have been further from the truth. We got served a selection of cakes that are frozen from Iceland, to top it off we asked staff what flavours the cakes were and they couldn’t tell us (we actually had to look up the flavours on the Iceland website). At this point the experience hasn’t been great.. but there’s more.. The owner had brought in her dog and it was tied to a table at the back of the room, right opposite the customer toilet. Now the owner warned us the dog was nervous and not to touch it however guests couldn’t even go to the toilet without the dog growling/showing its teeth and the dog actually lunged at a number of people, a couple being from our party and another male customer outside of our party. (The manager actually shouted at him for using the toilet as he wasn’t buying anything and didn’t even apologise for her dogs actions). Now im a dog person and this wouldn’t usually bother me but on the occasion I went to the toilet the dog was right forward as if guarding the area and showing its teeth at me. I believe that if it wasn’t tied to a table it would have gone to bite me. (This has been reported as clearly this is a dangerous dog and should certainly not be in a public area, especially when nervous and people are in and out all day). As we was packing up to leave my mum asked to speak to the manager in private as she wanted to discuss some of the things that had happened through out. The manager didn’t want to speak in private so the conversation was had in the main seating area. My mum first brought up about the sandwiches. Without even letting her finish the manager went on the defensive, became extremely rude and was shouting at my mum. (How this woman works in hospitality is beyond me let alone manage a place). My mum remained calm throughout and just wanted to explain her points. The lady continued to be rude and even started to mimic what my mum was saying. So if you are planning to have an event here I’d avoid at all costs. I won’t be going back here and neither will members of my party. Such a shame as the venue is in such a lovely location. It’s just a shame about the staff that work here."

"Ramsgate is a lovely destination to explore, and upon entering Sunrise Cafe, it appeared to be a typical British cafe, which is why we decided to dine there. While placing our order, the lady taking it seemed to struggle to understand my order, but we eventually got everything sorted out and paid. Unfortunately, my breakfast did not arrive with the rest of the food for my wife and children. After inquiring about my missing dish, the lady claimed that we had not ordered it, despite us pointing to it on the menu twice. Despite the confusion, my meal eventually arrived, but by then my family had finished eating. The food overall was typical cafe fare, with the exception of some hash browns that had a strange taste, as if they were fried in a cleaning solution. I would recommend double-checking your order before paying and avoiding the hash browns. Despite this, it is still a pleasant place to dine."

"Went here with some friends, had a joyful time, the food took a little bit long compared to other restaurants but the wait was well worth it. The Thai curry was lovely, the rice was good, the noodles tasted great. The sweet and sour prawns was very enjoyable and mixed well with the rice if you decide to put them in the same bowl. The duck was so good that even my friend who loves ducks was wolfing it down. I'd never had jasmine tea before so I can't compare it however it tasted fine. The staff was too kind. If you ever take a trip to broadstairs and don't fancy fish and chips, go to this place, it's very much worth it."

"Went with friends for the Halloween special tea. What a treat! The shop is near the bus station, so just a short walk. The team was in fancy dress and the shop was decorated. Our table was waiting on us when we arrived--we got a brownie, a cupcake, a slice of devil 's food cake (with a 'syringe ' full of syrup to drizzle), finger sandwiches, a bite of sausage roll, crackers and tuno, a small mocktail, and a hot drink...all vegan! There were so many more lovely cakes in the display case, but we had more than we could eat with the tea. The shop is DOG FRIENDLY! Which sadly I didn 't find out until I arrived, which was a real shame because my little dog would have loved it. We made a special trip from Canterbury for the meal, and we really enjoyed it. We made an afternoon of it and hit up the charity shops afterward."

"I really like Marks and Spencers and shop there a lot so would love to have given them a better review. Two of us tried their Turkey Feast sandwich, for Saturday lunch, which was excellent. Full of turkey, stuffing and cranberry couldn’t fault it. Their Christmas cake slice was also lovely, firm, full of fruit and scrumptious icing. The downside.... it took 15 minutes to pay for the goods and get two coffees. The queue wasn’t that long but the staff were so slow it was painful to watch. The cashier left the till twice to get cups and then teapots which meant the queue grinded to a halt. I did mention this to a member of staff who had a tie on, so I assume they were a supervisor or manager. He smiled and just explained that the barista needed more crockery. In the meantime he was just wandering around and could/should have stepped in and helped. Or got someone else who wasn’t on the till to replenish the crockery. The staff are friendly and seem really nice they are just badly managed. Come on M&S get your act together! We won’t be eating here again."

"There is so much to say that's great about this little restaurant. Fish cakes for starters were amazing, as was the Penang curry for a main, I sadly chose the lamb and mango curry as I like to try new things, which wasn't to my pallet, but the portions were so good that my partner shared her parang curry, and with the sticky rice and the most tasty pad Thai noodles, we could not finish everything. The prices are reasonable for the portions sizes and no corkage charge is a real bonus! The waitress was very accommodating for every need and very knowledgeable of all things served, don't be afraid to ask for anything. No card payments only cash but the cash machine is over the road so it's not a big problem. The final treat was a sorbet and fruit which was free! Overall it was the best dining experience I have had in a Thai restaurant in Thanet, and I have eaten in most, highly recommended by two very fussy eaters, in fact, why are you reading this still? You should be booking right now!!!"

"We spent two nights at the Crescent Victoria, and found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful sea view. On the first morning, we enjoyed our breakfast in the garden under the warm sunshine. The staff made us feel very welcome and the food was outstanding and plentiful. We felt very spoiled and would definitely return here again. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience."

"We were down in Broadstairs for the weekend and the usual restaurant we go to on a Friday evening was fully booked because it was Folk Week (Morris dancers around every corner). We had seen this restaurant from the pub across the road and always wondered what it would be like as we love Chinese food. My husband popped over and booked a table for the Friday evening. He explained that I was in a wheelchair but the lovely lady (I think her name is Grace) said that it was a small restaurant and not really wheelchair friendly but if I could get up three steps she would book the table immediately in front. That was fine for me as I can walk a little way. When we arrived she had booked the first table as you go in and helped me up the three steps and sat me down. We folded up my wheelchair and she very kindly put it in a corner out of the way. The menu in here is very extensive and as we were not sure what we were ordering we opted for a set meal. This started with a selection of things including seaweed, prawns on sezame toast, dumplings, spring rolls and ribs and it was delicious. We then had thin pancakes with cut up lamb, hoi sin sauce, cucumber and spring onions, again absolutely delicious.! The main course was egg fried rice, a chicken dish, a beef dish and sweet and sour vegetables. This was all washed down with a bottle of Chardonnay. The bill was something like £50.00 and Grace helped me back into my wheelchair. Highly recommended as the food is gorgeous but you need to book as the restaurant is small and fills up quickly. We will definitely be going back."

"I went to this restaurant today with some friends and had a negative experience with the male barista with long hair. When I politely clarified that we would be paying separately, he responded sarcastically and rolled his eyes. I was taken aback by his rude behavior, especially since the restaurant was not busy. He rolled his eyes again when I placed my order, and I left feeling uncomfortable with my drink. The drink itself was more like weak chocolate water than a frappe and was priced higher than it should have been. Overall, I do not plan on returning to this coffee shop as it seems to have declined in quality over the past few years."

"May used to be fantastic and the food was stunning. However, today the chicken satay was watery and tasteless with no peanut flavor, resembling the consistency of baby food. The chicken curry was also disappointing. I would only consider eating here again if dog poop was the only other option. I am deeply disappointed. The old May King had delicious food with flavor. The new version needs to go back to the original standards."

"This was our third visit to this restaurant, and this time we tried their lunch menu. We had previously only been for breakfast and coffee and cake. We visited during their busy time with the "eat out to help out" scheme and shared two smoothies, as well as savory and sweet avocado toasts, each accompanied by a dessert. The owner and her staff were very polite and helpful, despite being busy. They offered us a table upstairs, which we were delighted with. The food was amazing and we enjoyed every bit of it. We both agreed that we would have been happy to pay full price. Without a doubt, we will be back. This is our favorite vegan restaurant!"

"We were looking around for a restaurant with fish on their menu, not fried! We looked at the restaurant menu online and it appeared very suitable, so booked a table. We ate dinner on a Friday night and were quite surprised that we were the only diners in there. We were given the menu and our drinks order was taken. There is a second specials menu, which was a very reasonably priced vegetarian menu. We ordered the tuna £14), monkfish with prawns and parma ham £17.50) and rack of lamb £17.50). We were impressed with the presentation and also the fact that we received plenty of fresh vegetables, often small servings in other establishments. All were cooked to perfection. Each one of us said what very good, tasty food it was, the best we have had for a long while. We could not resist the desserts, priced at £4. We had the lemon and lime cheesecake and summer fruit creme brullee. My husband chose the cheese board at £6.50. He commented that it was the best one he had in 6 years! I have to say the quality, price and service we really could not understand why the restaurant wasn 't full! It also has a nice view, overlooking Ramsgate harbour. Go along , you won 't be disappointed!!"

"We stopped in yesterday during our visit to the vintage shops in Cliftonville and absolutely loved our visit. The food was really lovely and the staff were mega friendly. The café was clean, spacious, and cosy. We were the group of three where my friend didn't eat his tomatoes (we both have autism so he was being very particular, haha). Thank you so much for your lovely, warm welcome. We left with nicely filled bellies and were happy that we found you."

"This review covers two visits, the first late last summer and the second just after Christmas. First the BAD NEWS!!!!! We walked down to Millies last summer with a couple of friends, even though we had stopped going due to the previous attitude of the owner and the state of the place. We sat outside just as a large party left the table. It was covered in plates with the remnants of their meal and lots of half filled glasses along with a pool of melted ice cream under the table. I told our friends it would probably take half an hour for it to be cleaned was wrong it only took 25 minutes! The pool of ice cream was not touched. All this time the owner was parked on a table chatting to people totally oblivious to the state of the place there were several tables in the same state .Fast forward to just after Christmas. A bright, sunny afternoon and we decided to go for a walk. As we passed a very busy Millies we thought lets just have one. I went to the bar while the wife went to a table near the front where people were getting up. As i waited at the bar a young waitress went up to the table to tell my wife she could not sit there. My wife pointed out there was no reserved sign only to be told there were people waiting i don 't know where . As this was taking place the owner bustled pst saying ' oh this could be trouble '. The good lady wife conducted herself very well, bit her tongue gave me the nod and we walked out. The rudest owner i have met in one of the grubbiest bars i have been in and i 've been in a few! will not be seeing us ever again unless it is sold on to someone who has some idea how to look after a bar and treat people with a modicum of respect. Now for the GOOD NEWS!!!! Apparently Pavs cafe, opposite, has been bought by a local guy who has plenty experience of the trade and intends to turn it into a bar. This should be a great alternative to the other place and if his prices are only a little more reasonable than them it can only succeed. Good Luck to him."

"Lovely cafe next door to the Premier Inn which was ideal for grabbing some snacks/ breakfast. Fairly priced items definitely value for money, considering it is located in a train station. They’d got a good choice of food as well, lovely cobs with generous fillings (which were perfect for grabbing, ready for eating on the train). Friendly staff atmosphere couldn’t ask for much better. Will definitely be back when we’re next in Margate thank you! Loved the Panda on the hot chocolate! Simple touch but shows the owners go that extra mile to make things nice."

"We were on a day visit to Ramsgate just down the road from Margate (Cliftonville) and spotted Rileys, coincidentally having the same surname we just had to go for Coffee and Cakes. We were served by a pleasant lady, Kim, who we found jointly ran the business with Chris. We must say that the coffee was second to none and blew spots off of Costa's and at a fraction of the cost Good luck to you both, you deserve it with customer service superb. By the way Kim hope you have a great holiday, you helped to make our visit most enjoyable."
