"We visited the Bakers Arms on Sunday, en route to see Giffords Circus in Stroud. It is the last weekend of the season, so for us, an annual visit. I’m so glad we booked, because this is one busy pub! Admittedly, it was a little chaotic parking, however, we managed to park, and the landlady offered our friends The opportunity to park in the private car parking area. There were eight of us in our group. We arrived early, and had some relaxed drinks outside. At 1 pm, our table was ready, two of our guests had not arrived, and I informed the bar we would be delayed slightly, this was not a problem. We were shown to our table, an extensive menu many wonderful dishes to choose from. And we are all pleasantly surprised at the cost. One of our party chose the Vege Burger. Two decided on the Cheese Burgers and the other five of us all had roasts. Three opted for the rib of beef, and my daughter the pork. The meat was so tender and flavoursome, the vegetables fresh and crisp and the roast potatoes just simply perfect finished with stuffing, crackling and lashings of gravy. The service was relaxed and friendly and also very attentive. For dessert, some had ice cream, and my daughter opted for the Banoffee pie. We will certainly return, this time next year without any hesitation and look forward to it. And if you’ve not ever seen Giffords Circus, I certainly recommend it! A fantastic day, with great friends, good food, and a fantastic show! Thanks again."

"Telephoned and booked overnight in our small campervan as a stopover on our way to Devon. They have one spot at the side of the pub for a small camper but we were also told that the local primary school, just around the corner lets you stay in their car park overnight throughout the school holidays for a small fee Honesty box on the wall) What a lovely greeting we received by Karl and we were made to feel very welcome. The village of Miserden was peacefull. beautiful and idyllic. We parked and stayed for the evening, drinks selection great, they also made me my favoutire Gin drink. We both had Sunday dinners, which we both really enjoyed. Beef was generous, veg cooked perfect and roast potatoes were superb! I had a bread and butter pudding which was lovely. Staff, owners and other village customers were really chatty and our eveinng was a relaxed , fun ,cosy and homely atmosphere. We had a great night and slept really well as it was really quiet in the evening. We had such a nice time on the way home from Devon, we decided to stopover again. As it was impromtu, we stayed in the School Car Park. School teacher arrived to work, who was really friendly and advided us there was a public toilet, open through the night , just a little way down, over the road. This was helpful for us. Again, had another great chatty evening in the Carpenters Arms and this will be our stopover when we travel South again. Remeber, your night is what you make it, join in converstatons, ask questions, speak up if asked if everything is alright or if you would like something, I asked for extra gravy and a special drink making, nothing too much trouble. Thank you to everyone, we felt very much part of the Miserden Community."
