"This place was so cool! It was just down the block from our place, so we decided to check it out. First off- this is definitely a locals bar. We were the only ones speaking english, and about 90% of the people in there were 55+. Which we actually loved, because it was still so lively and high energy! It seems like almost all of the people in there know each other and are good friends. The seating is community style, so they will just sit you wherever there is a spot. We sat with 3 other people at a small round table. The place was packed, so we were lucky to get a seat. Maybe that was because of the soccer game, but either way it is not a large place, so I could see that being the norm. The waitress will very quickly come around with some Kolsch beer, and mark your coaster for every drink you get (they will just keep bringing them until you say stop). It seems like that is all they really serve- I did not see one single other type of beer/drink being served. They serve it in smallish glasses, so it stays fresh and cold. They have one menu with about 12 different choices. I asked a local what he recommended, and he did not disappoint. We got a fried pork chop with potatoes and salad, and a sausage with a carrot/potato mash, and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious, and the portions were plenty large. For 2 dinners and 5 beers, we paid about 25 euros. Not bad at all considering the quality, portion sizes, and friendly service. I would definitey check this place out if you are looking for a non touristy place with local charm. Oh and I would have taken a picture, but I didn't want to make myself stick out as a tourist more than I already did haha!"

"Ristorante Alfredo lies prominently on the north-south approach, corner Glockengasse. From the outside, the place seems inconspicuous. A menu that can show the prices, the random visitor seeks in vain. In vain would also be the obligation to go easy, sitting on a table, eating something. Alfredo is the top Italian in Cologne. The 40 seats are already booked weeks ago. Why? It offers first-class cuisine and gastronomy. I was lucky because Reiner Calmund had reserved the table. But one by one. From 7 p.m., the restaurant fills up to the last place. Holder Roberto comes to the table and explains what to eat today. “I buy in the morning and let myself be inspired by what I get,” he explains in perfect German. Anyone who wants to eat something else will not be disappointed. But usually guests get a fixed 5-speed crowd. And that's exquisite. Example? Sauted scallops with forest mushrooms and minirösti on warm raspberry jelly Venetian fish Risotto Fried Halibut with young artichokes beads rolls, boiled for 12 hours in vacuo at 68.5 degrees, served with hosting, potato cellar and Aubergine mint pure espuma of Sabaglione with vanilla ice cream. For example, a provolo from the Oseleta grape. Comes from the Valpolicella area and also directly from there. The menu costs 65 €. For a bottle of wine, between 35 and 50 € are due. The price includes a pianist who keeps the guests discreet. At 22 a.m. Alfredo is most next to the piano and sings Italian arias in a remarkably sounding baritone. But at the conclusion of his musical mission, the singing chef slept the old Willy-Millowitsch-Lied Isch bin ne kölsche Jung Wat wavete maache! Isch bin ne kölsche Jung Un dun jän laache. Isch bin och otherwise nit schlesch, nee, isch bin brav, ming favorite Wörtsche, häiss Kölle Alaaf! Mer sin Holding Kölle and the Alfredo ne kölsche Italiener!"

"I have been to this locals restaurant on several occasions over the years and to me it gets better and better with each visit. This is you proper locals restaurant,a traditional interior with great decor and furnishings serving delicious hearty German cuisine and delicious Kölsch...beers in a place your always guaranteed a good atmosphere ,as we were here over the Christmas period the vibe in here was superb. We had just been in the Christmas market in Neumarkt and decided to hit some of the pubs and restaurants close by and Bei D t Tant was a great choice. On a freezing cold night we walked in and this place was heaving so much so that we could only get seats by the serving bar, this was no problem as we were only here for drinks, two Gaffel Kölsch beers were in front of us in no time at all and we just kicked back and chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular restaurant. The beer was superb ,a light and refreshing beer and very easy to drink indeed. As soon as our first beers were gone two more beers were in front of us,I really enjoy the Kölsch beer served in Cologne. On this visit I cannot comment on the meals but I have ate here on numerous occasions and the meals are just superb. We moved on after our 2 beers and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Bei D'r Tant is really easy to locate by jumping tram number 1 3.4.7.9.16.18. to stop Neumarkt were you walk down Cacilienstraße were you will find this restaurant. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday,11am till Midnight. Friday Saturday,11am till 1am. Sunday,Closed. A great locals restaurant and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area."

"We went here for dinner on a Friday evening, ordered two Brauhausschnitzel a Kölsch and a red wine. I took just one sip of my wine and immediately noticed it had oxidised. It wasn't corked, just oxidised from exposure to air for too long....Happens quickly with an open bottle, especially in warm weather. I went to the bar and politely flagged the issue. Our extremely young waitress took a sniff but clearly wouldn't have known the difference. She then passed the wine to the barman. He didn't even smell the wine, didn't taste it, wouldn't even hear me out. Instead, he immediately got rude, shaking his head and barking at me that liking this wine or not was simply a matter of taste. I politely tried to counter that I know my wines and that this wine was oxidised, but he barked more of the same. I fully realise that you don't go to a pub in Cologne expecting fancy wine. But even table wine is undrinkable when it's gone off. So, I gave up trying to get a replacement and asked for water instead. The barman responded that I may have a water but that I would still be paying for the wine Appalled by the rude treatment and blatant rip-off, I was THIS close to walking away from the meal (leaving an unsettled bill if when the waitress stared pleading with me that the guy was her boss and that he'd make her pay for the wine if she took it off the bill (which she herself would have wanted to do) and that, likewise, she'd allegedly be charged out dinner if we walked away. Needless to say, the meal was spoiled for me, because I was so frustrated. —I've been coming to the pub for ten years. I've brought groups as large as twenty people to this pub and we've had a good time. I'm so disappointed that, clearly, they no longer want my custom."

"Wir waren dort mit der Familie, um ein geburtsagsessen mal außergewöhnlich zu erleben! Auch wenn die Preise etwas gehobener sind, wir versprachen uns viel :)Das Restaurant selber ist in einem Lokal mit wirklich interessanten schnitt, es geht um die ecke und hat 2 Eingänge :) die Innendekoration ist chinesisch/ südamerikanisch, mit typischen Kleidungsstücken und selbstgemalten Bildern an der wand. Man sitzt an dunkel braunen sehr schönen Tischen! Immer wieder :)"
