"This place was so cool! It was just down the block from our place, so we decided to check it out. First off- this is definitely a locals bar. We were the only ones speaking english, and about 90% of the people in there were 55+. Which we actually loved, because it was still so lively and high energy! It seems like almost all of the people in there know each other and are good friends. The seating is community style, so they will just sit you wherever there is a spot. We sat with 3 other people at a small round table. The place was packed, so we were lucky to get a seat. Maybe that was because of the soccer game, but either way it is not a large place, so I could see that being the norm. The waitress will very quickly come around with some Kolsch beer, and mark your coaster for every drink you get (they will just keep bringing them until you say stop). It seems like that is all they really serve- I did not see one single other type of beer/drink being served. They serve it in smallish glasses, so it stays fresh and cold. They have one menu with about 12 different choices. I asked a local what he recommended, and he did not disappoint. We got a fried pork chop with potatoes and salad, and a sausage with a carrot/potato mash, and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious, and the portions were plenty large. For 2 dinners and 5 beers, we paid about 25 euros. Not bad at all considering the quality, portion sizes, and friendly service. I would definitey check this place out if you are looking for a non touristy place with local charm. Oh and I would have taken a picture, but I didn't want to make myself stick out as a tourist more than I already did haha!"

We loved this place! As a stranger in a land unknown to us it was comforting to find this friendly little neighborhood pub with spectacular food!vThe Jagerschnitzel mit Bartkartoffeln and Bratwurst, Bartkartoffeln were delicious. Well worth the 20 minute walk from the Köln Central Station.

as an american with my family, who first visited coln, I wanted a local experience for a few beers. that is the place! it was a Friday afternoon and very crowded, but the weather was nice so we sat outside. the table of the natives next to us could not have been more friendly and explained how the beer worked with the wreath of the beer and the markings on the coast. amazing experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a local flair with zero drama. Voir le carte

I stopped by here in the middle of the day to get a bite to eat and sample Reissdorf since I had already tasted Gaffel, Gilden, Fruh, Muhlen, Dom, and Sion. I was pretty hungry as well, and without even looking at the menu, I spotted a dish that another guy was eating so I just pointed to it and asked the server if I could have what that guy was eating. She was really nice and made sure I had a full, fresh glass at all times. My dish resembled a shake 'n bake pork chop, but the best shake 'n bake pork chop anyone has ever had. A side of potato salad and a tub of mustard complemented it just right. It was very low-key when I came in, but it looked like a great place to party.

You know when you walk into a place and immediately have the feeling you should leave. : This place will do this to you. When my friend and I walked in here, we had exactly that feeling. Of course, the moment we entered, the instant silence and gaze from a few locals towards us did make us feel a bit queasy, but soon after things went back to normal. This is clearly a place that supports F.C. Köln football team. So I'd recommend to go in there keeping that in mind. The staff working there was very nice but firm. The ladies running the shop that day were clear that we immediately need a beer and should have a look at their daily meals. We both had a bratwurst (the largest I'd ever eaten and h...

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
