"Every three or four weeks my twin brother Stephen and I pick somewhere to go for a weeks holiday, been doing it for many many years ,we pick out all the main tourist sites to visit and as big fans of real ales, craft beers and...brewpubs we always pick out the best places to visit in any city or town we venture and add to this the great local pubs we find makes for a great weeks holiday but it funny how the simplest pub such as Bei D'r Tant leave such a lasting impression on the memory, found this locals pub years ago ,loved it,had a great time and so on all subsequent visits to this city on the River Rhine I always look forward to visiting here ,its got everything I love about a pub. The interior is superb,an island style serving bar, chunky wooden tables and chairs, great decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this two floored pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this pub,its without a shadow of a doubt my favourite pub in Cologne. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Tuesday afternoon, pub was as always busy with a great atmosphere, we could only manage to get seats near the serving bar were two Gaffel Kölsch beers were deposited on the green tiled serving bar and two pencil ticks were put on one of our beer mats to indicate how many beers we had drunk. My beer was really good, Gaffel Kölsch beer is such a wonderful, light, hoppy and unpretentious beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink,a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen really appreciate and served in its distinctive narrow glass, it's a totally refreshing beer. On this visit I cannot really comment on the meals as we were here only for beers but I have ate here on many occasions over the years and the meals are just superb, hearty German cuisine tasty and filling. We really enjoyed our beers in here, stayed for three each before we moved on and as on every other visit to Bei D'r Tant we had a great time. Bei D'r Tant is easy to locate along Caecilienstraße. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 11am till Midnight . Friday Saturday, 11am till 1am. Sunday, Closed. A fantastic Cologne locals pub,one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area."

Was in Cologne for the evening through work. Popped in here as looked traditional and busy for a Wednesday. Traditional, lovely Kolsch beer, served traditionally. Friendly staff and hospitality. Would 100% recommend.

This is a great spot for typical German fayre... The food was inexpensive and excellent quality, the bill came to €36 after two solid meals and quite a few beers! Very jolly atmosphere. Definitely recommend the herring with potatoes! Voir le carte

We came here on a Saturday at 22:00 and were pleased to find that the kitchen was still open. The menu is typical German pub food, the prices reasonable. We had a lovely herring in soured cream sauce and Bratkartoffeln. The food was freshly prepared...and delicious. The staff were very friendly (which is definitely NOT always the case in Cologne pubs) and we had a great time. Voir le carte

It is said, that waiters in Cologne Brauhaus are meant to be a little impertinent and that it is part of the game but here it was really too much. I was there with a group of friends, at first we dediced to order only...beer, then I was tempted to get something to eat and as I stood up and walked to the counter asking the waiter if I may have the menu, his answer was “No”. Bad joke, buddy, you tried to amend it by being super nice to me after I walked back to my table clearly pissed off, but you are not going to see me in your Brauhaus again.

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
