"we met friends last night who had traveled all the way from bournemouth to visit and have a delightful night. Thankfully our group was a good company, our experience was far from it. we ran a little late, so when we arrived, we were shocked to find our friends who had waited for more minutes from the order for drinks! when we ordered ours, it wasn't faster. then we added our choice to order and expected our meal. I admit we would have heard that the service was shocked, but the quality of the foods that were created for him had been told. oh young, how wrong was that? When the meal finally came, they were shocking. the pizzas were in order, but everything else. yes, my friend ordered the bolognese, but asked rigatoni to replace the spaghetti. he had said it was okay, but at the arrival it was strozzapeti. we asked for spicy and parmesan and waited and waited. Finally we were brought salt, but my friend had to leave the table and get the pfeffer himself. when the parmesan arrived, it was in the form of the manager who leaned over us to grate it on stone cold meal times. a reef short nativity was ordered that was unusable. I had not recognized by short, it meant that the amount of meat was short in the amount. what was there was burned and dried up to the consistency of jerky. see attached photo. my lasagne arrived minutes after any other meal, after remembrance it lacked sauce bubbling away and the lower layer burned on the basis of the plate. I admit that it was on the house, but serving another food is not acceptable. the desserts came. the tiramasu was dry, sat on the chocolate sauce that glued it to the plate. the chocolate melt didn't do better. it would be better than chocolate splodge. the service was worse than we said. the meal went over the top of our heads to be handed over to the other side of the table, the manager tried to delete the table, although a friend still eat. continuous doing and eye-rolling when the problems were shown. the damentoiletten had not loo roll, the hand dryer from order and no ersatz towel. obviously not safe for customers! Yes, we got discounted, but this evaluation is to warn others about our experience and, probably pointless, hope that the management read it this and invest in training and time to solve these problems. I guess stratford is a lively environment, my son has worked both as a cook and management in the hospitality in the city for almost years, so I understand the stress of the city."

"I am very disappointed by our visit to our local Toby Carvery this evening. I booked a table over a week ago for 6pm on a Thursday evening for 3 adults and 1 child. When we arrived the resteraunt manager (not sure of name but...had blonde short hair and glasses) made us aware that they were being audited so there would be a wait on food. We agreed this would be okay and took our seats, the manager asked if we had any dietary requirements and I have a very specific set of requirements. She said that she would be back in a minute, I then asked another waitress could I see an allergy menu as I wanted to get food from the deck. She said she would see where it was. The manager then came over about 15 minutes later and handed me an ipad for me to do it myself. I had a look and then we were in for a wait until someone came over to do our drinks. Our waitress was new and she looked incredibly overwhelmed with little help from her manager but she did incredibly well. We ordered our food and we went to the deck to get it. I was incredibly upset when the roast potatoes had gravy already on them as this meant I had to have the stale roast potatoes that were going to be chucked away as they are the only ones without beef gravy. Out of all the vegetables advertised the only ones I could have were peas and carrots. All of the other dishes were empty and the chefs seemed less than bothered to change them for new ones. We then asked for a children 's dessert and was told they might have it in but they might not so we waited another 15 minutes for the dessert to arrive. I then asked 3 different waitresses for the bill and was told they would do it in a minute. The manager was rushing around sorting complaints for different tables. We eventually paid for our dinner and on the way out the manager was leant over a table talking to a customer explaining that she couldn 't cope and she needed a break we actually had to ask her to move so we could get through. She then came storming over and pulled our lovely waitress to one side and had a go at her in front of us. I felt very out of place and thought this was incredibly unprofessional. I have worked in hospitality for many years but being pulled up in front of customers is not acceptable. The manager was basically explaining that it was all her fault for pouring the wrong wine and that she had to give discounts and therefore she had lost money tonight. This was a special meal for us and I was incredibly upset and disappointed by this experience. I had to ask the waitress if she was okay as she seemed incredibly shaken by the experience but she tried to reassure me she was okay. From 6pm until 8.30pm we were at the restaurant on a Thursday evening."

"I have just returned from a terrible meal at the beagle nr sproughton, Ipswich. To start we had a bread dipping starter, unfortuantely the bread was stale, we then waited for quite some time for our mains. my boyfriend ordered a traditional beef roast, and I ordered the sirloin steak. unfortunately for the roast, the carrots were hardly cooked, and the yorkshires were not home made, but frozen ones that came out a bit tough, for the price of £10 it was a terrible effort. for the steak, at £14 the steak was tough and chewy and seriously burnt on the outside and still bleeding on the inside when i had asked for it to be cooked so that no blood was coming out of it, they forgot the onion rings which came with the meal, when pointed out the waitress did go and get me some and came back with 2 very small onion rings, again onces that have come out of a freezer rather than the ones claimed to have been home made with beer batter. some of the chips were cooked to a crisp, and i left half the steak, i can name at least 5 restaurants that can provide far superior food for a similar price tag, and we didn't bother with the desert as we simply did not want to part any further cash to the place. an extremely disappointing experience for the price tag, slow service, and for long periods of time no staff about at all! we would definately never go back, which is a shame as this is a place we have gone to regularly over a number of years, and i do not remember ever having such poor food, at such expence and feeling so ripped off topped with poor service."
