"My wife and I ate lunch here and enjoyed the good food that was served. We both had chicken, though two different offerings. The food was tasty, but the servings were not very hot. It was as though someone had placed the plates by an...open window in the kitchen, so one side was hot and the other side cool. We sat upstairs in a very quaint, authentic dining area. The drawback was that on the top floor where the kitchen is located (one more floor above where we sat), the kitchen staff comes out on the stairway landing, inside the building, for their smoking break with the windows open. So even though the windows are open on the landing, the dining room smells of cigarette smoke which is not appealing to us as non-smokers. Due to this constant smoke odor, we wouldn't return to this restaurant, as it is disrespectful of the clientele for the owner to allow such a practice."

the goulash is just perfect. I have backed up childhood memories and reconciled meals at my Hungarian big tan. is the way to speyer. if they are already there for a few days, one must do.

The goulash is just perfect. Brought back childhood memories and sundy meals at my Hungarian grandaunt. Definately worth the detour to Speyer. If you are already there for some days, a must do.

what a wonderful meal we had in the old coin! the outside seats were comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. our meat was perfectly cooked. both meal times we ordered came as described. we ordered a dish with food, glasses. weeping and then sharing a bottle of water balance came to 47euro.

The Restaurant is situated in an old building in the Center of Speyer. And normally it's better to make a reservation but we were lucky to get a free table for two. The service was very good and friendly. I had stuffed cabbage hungarian style...and for me there was a little too much cream added. So I was not really satisfied.

Prices ok. I know German food can be heavier than some, but this was stodgy. Schnitzel and salad were fine, but sweet potato chips were not sweet potato and not good chips. If I order belly of pork, I do not expect 2 slices of...over salted preprepared pink sliced rolls of meat, The sauerkraut was good as were the bratkartoffel.....but a real palatinate meal it was not. Disappointing......I hope this is not the standard elsewhere.

Popped in on a very busy Saturday lunchtime on the off chance there was a table, we only waited for a couple of minutes before a table was free. The Menu is a mixture of traditional German and Hungarian, between us we had a Goulash...with Dumplings, a soup and a dish with 3 types of meat on a skewer with Potatoes and Courgette. The food took a little while to come, probably because it was busy but it was really nice, the Wine was a Pinot Noir and the Beer was from a Faß. all of it was tasty, nicely presented and the service on the whole was good. Price was average considering Speyer is a tourist Hotspot.

it in the old town with tables outside with view of the main pedestrian zone in the old city main road since the Roman time. it is popular with local and good ground. eating is what I would call imaginative modern German. the menu is just...in German, which is fair enough, the city does not seem to attract foreign visitors despite its beautiful historical buildings. but given our very limited German, it has made our meal a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit...

"Mr The Anh Nguyen, the owner and also the chef of Le Cyclo, interprets a few traditional Vietnamese dishes using seasonal ingredients, fresh herbs, spices and aromatics. All his creations are served with French elegance. We were a big group of 18 people, so we made reservations in advance and requested several traditional Vietnamese dishes not featured on the standard menu. When people think of Vietnamese cuisine, what comes to mind is “Goi Cuôn” - fresh summer rolls that are ubiquitous in Vietnam. So it makes sense that our dinner starts off with them. Another popular appetizer is “Bò lá lôt” - lightly spiced minced beef rolls wrapped with wild betel leaves and grilled to perfection. “Banh khot” are quintessential appetizers - mini pancakes made with rice flour, minced shrimps and spring onions, golden, crispy and savory. “Chao Tôm” is a traditional appetizer where seasoned shrimp paste is moulded around a sugarcane skewer. Our main dishes are typical home-cooked dishes shared family-style, served with white jasmine rice. We had tasty “Bap Cai Cuôn thit ga-tom Hap Nước Mắm Gung”, which was basically steamed chicken-and-prawn roulade in a fresh ginger-Nước Mắm sauce; “Cá Kho Tô” - considered as comfort food by many Vietnamese, the fish develops a sweet-savory gooeyness from the sugar and fish sauce over the course of a long braise; simple but tasty chicken omelette; and “Rau Muong” stir-fried with garlic - a staple green veggie in Vietnam (if Vietnam declared a national vegetable, it’d probably be this).Due to its colorful history marked with several occupations, colonization period and foreign influence, Vietnam is a real melting pot of various culinary traditions. From a complicated Chinese to a delicate Japanese, a bit over-spiced Thai, highly distinctive Cambodian, beautiful Indian and super gastronomic French - we are happy to report our tastebuds went on a delicious culinary adventure to Le Cyclo!"
