"I went to Terra for dinner on a hot Saturday night in July and went back for lunch on Sunday (they are closed on Sunday evenings and on Mondays). It was nice to chat to the owner Giuseppe Paglia in Italian and to some of...the Italian staff and the service was good. On the Saturday night I was stuck inside as I hadn't thought to specifically ask for a table outside when I called to reserve a table and it would have been nice to have been asked if I wanted to sit outside instead of arriving and being told I hadn't asked to sit outside and since they have two services there was no chance of getting a table on the terrace. I started with octopus with algae in a sesame and potato sauce for which I didn't think was anything special then I had conchiglioni alla norma for which I'd seen someone next to me eating and it was good but you have to ask for extra parmesan cheese which they will grate onto your pasta, I prefer to have a little dish to serve myself. The cheapest bottle of Italian wine was which I found expensive for Chartres. A glass of prosecco was which was more reasonable. On the Sunday I ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio for I started with tuna tartare in broth with algae for The broth was cold instead of warm and there were too many algae. Had tagliolini with truffles for and had to ask for extra parmesan to be grated on it. Overall everything was fine and I would go back but I would also look at other restaurants especially the one star Michelin restaurant Le Georges at the Monarque. I had dinner at their brasserie La Cour which was very good. If you're staying at the Mercure (better rooms) or the Monarque next door (nice restaurants and bar), just turn right out of the front door and walk up the road for minutes. If you want a table outside in the summer then make sure you reserve it ahead of time."

"I ate at Fuxia with my wife on a Sunday evening late in July and found it to be a cut above the average in a city full of very predictable French style restaurants. True, we were attracted by the Ristorante sign on the building facade after eating out in Lyon on overpriced French style meat and fish the previous two nights. Subsequently, we were not disappointed with Fuxia and its Mediterranean offerings. A shared plated of cured meats and pickled vegetables for a starter followed by rigatoni/aubergine pasta and risotto/prawn dishes for mains were well presented and certainly a welcome change from the usual fare in Lyon and exceptionally well priced at EUR43.00 the lot. Two rounds of a very acceptable Italian Pinot Grigio at EUR 5.00 per glass and Carlsberg beer at EUR 3.70 per 250 ml glass completed the deal and left us very satisfied. The venue was furnished appropriately with practical chairs and tables inside and out, although the tables were quite small and sparsely dressed. The English speaking wait staff were extremely polite and coped well with our limited French vocabulary and made a very special effort to keep the scourge of all outdoor restaurants in France, the habitual smokers, away from us. Most of the other patrons appeared to be local couples and families finishing off another quiet Sunday evening in Lyon and all looked to be as happy as we were with the meals. The Fuxia owners should be proud of their ability to provide good food at a fair price in pleasant surroundings and we will certainly return if given the chance."
