"Me and my mum mostly had the small tapas dishes were were nice, nothing spectacular as far as Japanese food goes, but it wasn’t bad. Portions are tiny, the restaurant itself is also very small inside with only a few tables and mostly bar like seats, all stools rather than chairs. Services was good for the most part but very slow for certain dishes, particularly the Katsu dishes which took almost an hour. Anything other than that arrived pretty quickly though, so am not sure why. No sushi, no free selection of sashimi, very limited menu. Overall average at best, certainly not in my recommendations for Japanese or Asian restaurants in Manchester unfortunately."

My pal and I were both utterly taken with YuzuAnd, unlike some other reviewers, we didn't take issue with the service.

We had a serious craving for Japanese food this week, so naturally I jumped on Yelp to find out where was best and I can happily say that I wasn't

The fish at this restaurant is excellent! We ordered a mixed sushi platter, chirashi bowl, and enjoyed some beer and delicious sake. Can't wait for my next visit! Voir le carte

This was by far and away the best sushi that we have ever eaten. The menus provided lots of choice but as we were the last couple in at the end of the day the choice was more limited. However, that just helped make up...

I visited Yuzu with a couple of friends for my birthday. The food was delicious and authentic, the service friendly and quick, and it was all great value. We finished our meal with a glass of sake. A lovely evening in beautiful surroundings.

The restaurant itself has a nice welcoming feel, the staff were friendly and helpful with regards to my allergy confirming the food I ordered was nut free. Had the tofu for starter, and veg and chicken udon bowls for meals. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, it tasted fresh and did not upset my stomach at all. I will definitely be returning to try the other dishes on the menu Voir le carte

We were here in Manchester for the night and for lunch the next day decided to try yuzu out as i had seen good things online, dont believe them, the food was bland and cold, the wait staff, especially the older lady was incredibly rude toward us and other white customers, the drinks rang was large but every thing i ordered was ‘out of stock’ the portion sizes were minuscule for the price too.

Having been persuaded (forced) into going to the Manchester Christmas markets with Nyssa for our year anniversary, I thought I would book a table at Yuzu and at least get something I wanted out of the day (although Nyssa does like Japanese food, I’m not that selfish Yuzu is a small Japanese restaurant located on Faulkner Street just on the edge of Chinatown. Unlike the newly opened Sakana and other similar Japanese/Asian restaurants in Manchester, Yuzu is a cosy, authentic, and no-frills little place with wooden seats and tables along with counter seating.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
