Landlord was extremely rude and miserable. Told us to turn the wifi off on our phones so he could watch rugby on the TV without it buffering... Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Landlord is a miserable old so and so. His henchman has learnt from the master. Bar and waiting staff are often useless. BUT it's the best pub in Town as long as you don't have a dog. This restaurant is a cozy spot for lunch with a simple yet delicious menu. I ordered the sausage and mash which was delicious, but my mother found the sea bream to be just average. The service was lacking, with clumsy actions like loudly placing a water jug and clashing glasses, as well as indiscreet comments about the bill and tip from the server. Overall, I found the service to be extremely rude.

This is one of Malmesbury's best kept secrets. Totally unassuming and while other places come go this has been a fixture for as long as I can remember. Not the widest menu, but as many will know that is a good thing! There are day specials on the blackboard to keep it intesting. Been there many times over the years and the food has always been good. Never been disappointed. Tip: Get a table next to the large window to get the best view of the high street I know. To summarise: honest and unpretentious.

Visited with family including 2 very hungry children. We were handed menus and told to order by a certain time which was fine by us. Half an hour before the kitchen closed we went to give our order only to be told the kitchen was closed. The Waitress, rather than apologise for the mix up, was quite the opposite. The bar man looked blankly at us and then shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Won’t be returning, not a friendly atmosphere for those visiting malmesbury.
