This is a country pub with an emphasis on food and the menu is trying hard to be a little different - which I think is encouraging! The staff were attentive

Had lunch here on a Thursday. It is a warm and welcoming place the hostess was very friendly and helpful. There is a good menu and the food was excellent, well cooked and beautifully presented.

You're not going to get a better roast dinner anywhere in Somerset. We had succulent chicken, pork, beautiful rare beef, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy. Voir le carte

Tremendous gastro pub set in the village. Just enjoyed a fantastic shared roast platter of beef, chicken and pork. Beef was cooked medium rare and the pork was melt in your mouth. Well done to all the team there

The Sunday Share Platter is excellent, with beef, pork and chicken accompanied by six veg. We sat outside and enjoyed a leisurely lunch helping ourselves from the serving dishes, so much better than a full plate!

It's amazing. the roast is the best in somerset bar none. my elders drove here twice an hour to accompany me! highly recommended. friendly staff, perfect service, beautiful beer and wine. 5 stars my pooch was also welcome. keep the good work richard and rebecca Voir le carte

Visited a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday for Sunday lunch. Never visited before but all we had heard was that the food was amazing. And they were right! Roast platter or a la carte menu available. Good portion sizes, lovely tasty ingredients, friendly attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

really nice eating! absolutely loved the devon hühnerbrust, especially the karamellized wobble. as desserts. they absorb the apple and vanilla ice cream with chocolate. also really recommend the seafood. the atmosphere is incredible. I really felt at home. also the service, simply brilliant. If I ever drove past here again, I would definitely come.

A very welcoming return visit, to a really good gastro pub. The food is outstanding, the lovage veloute with smoked eel probably the best soup ever tasted, as smooth and rich as could be created. Chicken with a Middle Eastern stuffing and hispi cabbage perfect. The burger as always rich with the flavours of the grill, the triple cooked chips crispy as can be outside soft and smooth inside. The whole finished with a lemon posset topped with granola and strawberries. The menu changes frequently, so what we enjoyed may not be on for your visit, but whatever is will be wonderful. As much as can be sourced locally. What's not to like. Booking is essential and a visit not to be missed. All the rig... Voir le carte
