"We had a fantastic time dining at this restaurant! The food exceeded our expectations! We had the Parma ham wrapped Fig with goats cheese and walnut salad and tuna steak and pork loin mains finished with a delicious dark chocolate tart. The staff were attentive and great at wine pairing the dessert wine was lovely. After we had left a bag behind, this was kindly caught us walking back and returned it to us : Service: Dine in"

"Had a roast here, was very nice. Only down side was we looked at the menu online to see they did Turkey, but when we arrived they didn't have any. a little bit disappointed as we picked this pla e for the Turkey Roast. Had the beef instead and it was lovely. My partner had the Lamb which was also tender and lovely. Will definitely be back again, hopefully when they are serving Turkey . Price per person: £40–50"

"Lovely, quaint and quirky cafe in the middle of the high street!! Went in to Poppins and chose it over the two cafes we passed because of the booth seating (which was very comfortable! Ordered two BLT baguettes and a couple of drinks, reasonably priced and very tasty!! Service was great, staff were very attentive! Will definitely come in again when we are down this way next as we are only on holiday for the weekend. Meal type: Lunch"

"I came away from my recent visit to this lovely restaurant with some concern. For good reason, this has been a favourite venue for many years and locals are watching closely to see what a recent change of ownership will mean. Until my most recent meal here, I'd been encouraged that much remained the same, including excellent professional waiting staff. However, despite a price hike, the set-price lunch menu now offers a more limited choice, with two out of eight items being vegetarian/vegan and another two with cost supplements meaning they don't really belong on the table d'hote menu. My starter was the most disappointing start to a meal ever offered here; it was essentially a beige crab pate in a wine glass with just two tiny biscuits to accompany. My main course of roast turkey was as expected and I was happy to find that the Lord Bute continues to include traditional vegetables. However, this rather modest meal cost me £30-. With a better starter, appreciating my surroundings and excellent service, that would have been fine. But I did feel very slightly cheated. I understand the new owner will be aiming to achieve star rating at this venue and do hope that s/he has made the right calculations. The local residents have been very loyal to this restaurant. If a new focus alienates this custom-base, are there enough others who would visit the new version often enough for it to survive?"

"what a sound! it was searched for breakfast options in mudeford and found this whole gem! the menu looked fantastic so we walked 3 miles along the beach to highcliffe to this spectacular place! I am so fussy with breakfast options and there was so much to choose from and three specials also! great coffee, fab service and delicious food! the children had American pancakes that they had torn off, Hubby had the one pan. fabulous homemade beans and delicious sausages and I had crushed avo with additional smoked salmon. everything was good. all foods are homemade and I just wish this was our local!"
