"Give this one a miss! We were catfished by all the amazing online reviews and were so excited as we’d even had to book over a week in advance just to get a table for Sunday lunch. Worst roast we’ve ever had! Dark and dingy inside. Wait staff were sweet and polite but slow and didn’t seem to know what was available on the menu. Lunch service started at 12pm and by 2pm they had already run out of multiple items on the menu. The food was shockingly bad. They didn’t have any of the starters we chose so we opted for the cod cake as a second choice, which was still partially frozen in the middle and had to be sent back. The roasts themselves were tragic. We opted for the lamb and the beef. The meat on each dish was tough and overdone, the vegetables were all bland and had turned to mush from being overcooked (no bite left in them at all , the yorkshire was dry and dense, and the gravy was some sort of bisto like monstrosity. To add insult to injury the prices are outrageous for such poor quality cookery and atmosphere. Prepare to pay north of £20 per roast (not including drinks/ starters etc. . Suffice it to say we will not be returning."

The owner is the most rude person you could meet. He really doesn't care if your there or not! its like you are a burden to him. He totally spoiled our evening. Don't bother, you get better service from Mac Donald's. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I can't understand the negative reviews of the Yew Tree. We've been coming here for a few years now based on a recommendation, and we've never had a bad meal. The food is consistently top-notch, as is the service, along with a great selection of wines and real ales. The garden is beautiful, making it perfect for summer evenings. This is definitely our go-to pub. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.

Do not go here! Can’t comment on the food as we left before we got to sit down (40 mins waiting! the landlord is an absolute tool with zero people skills and the first thing he assures you of on arrival is that his food is not microwaved! I have never had this said to me in any pub regardless of where it is when wanting to order food, obviously when you go for a pub lunch you expect freshly cooked food! Shame as it looks like a lovely pub, but with him at the wheel can’t see it lasting

Good pubs serving splendid food isn’t difficult in Kent. The Yew Tree is a case in point; tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy A-roads and Motorways lives an accommodating country pub serving Britain’s finest. I love the decor; a lot of care has been put into the look and feel of the exterior and interior. Outside there feels like queues of Alice in Wonderland. Inside it feels like a study. Service is professional, personable and perceptive. My pick of the dishes was the sumptuous scallops.

had a delicious, inexpensive three-course menu here. there was a wide selection of meal times that were stuffed on the various flavors of our group of six. the presentation of the food was excellent and pleasant to the eye. the waitress was very attentive, polite and friendly and ensured everyone needed. the seating was good without our party being too close to others. because of covid, tables were assigned only two hours, but we didn't feel hurried. there was a pleasant ambiente there and it was a pleasant evening that I would recommend to others try.

Had a lovely lunch today with my mates. Pub was really easy to find and nice and snug amongst all the country woods. The pub itself is a bit old fashioned both outside and inside and the lighting was quite dark and gloomy inside but otherwise was fine, made for a cosy meal. A lot of reviews on here said about the food and the service not being great. To be honest and fair to those reviews I personally dident have a problem with the food I ordered although some of my mates had different views on there food my order was the deep fried brie starter and roast beef for the main also had a lovely cheese cake which I dident get a photo of) all of my food was well cooked and fresh and tasted fantast...

I wasn't going to leave a review but after spending the night being sick I'm now angry enough to. After having my first 2 choices for starters declined for being out of stock I opted for the soup and was told it was mushroom. Again I was told I couldn't have this but could have tomato or minestrone. So minestrone it was. An hour and a half later (the waitress was very apologetic for the wait so can't fault her) my soup turned up. What I was served I still can't tell what it was( please Google Minestrone soup to see what it should be chef). Not wanting to wait another hour and half for another one I decided to eat/drink what I can only decide as pale dishwater with a funky taste(big mistake)....
