"Our first time visiting The horseshoe, celebrating our wedding anniversary! And it was the best meal we have had eating out in a long while, Sirloin steak was cooked just how I asked it to be delicious served with mixed fresh vegetables including a couple of new potatoes a bowl of chips, tomato two mushrooms peppercorn sauce! Wow so much food presented good and totally worth the price, desserts again Wow large portions of sticky toffee pudding with custard warm chocolate fudge cake with cream! Yummy delicious. Waitresses were very nice and friendly and food was served with not having to wait ages. We will definitely be back soon. Sunday lunch next time."

"Was very disappointed to see that Waterside has adopted a cashless policy. When only purchasing items of low value, we like many people, prefer to pay cash. And what happens when the internet goes down and the machines don't work? Do they just close completely and send everyone away? Also, not very well laid out for disabled people or those having to use walking aids. Had to move items out of the way so my elderly mum could get around with her walker. Toilets were a considerable way from the entrance and given the location of the garden centre, I imagine this is often the first thing visitors need on arrival as the majority would arrive by car. Prices generally were not competitive with our local garden centres and we left after only 45 minutes because we considered the garden centre to be overpriced and my elderly Mum was getting fed up with having to walk a long distance around the outside and inside areas because they insist that the most accessible door, which saves a considerable walk, must only be used by staff! Not much thought given to disabled guests at all."

"After just returning from a holiday in Cornwall, I called to see if I could get a reservation for a roast on Sunday, September 24th. To my delight, they managed to fit me in a couple of hours later. When we arrived, the barmaid seemed surprised to see us but quickly set up a table, so it wasn't an issue at all. This was our fourth or fifth visit for a roast, and we both decided to have the roast lamb this time. It was absolutely delicious—so flavorful, served piping hot, and portions were generous. I requested extra gravy and the cauliflower cheese, both of which were outstanding. The gravy had a wonderful taste, and the cauliflower cheese was simply irresistible. We will definitely be returning! I just wish I had taken a photo. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The food at this restaurant is excellent. The staff is attentive and we were seated quickly. Our drinks order was taken promptly, followed by our food order. The wait for our food was short and the dishes were delicious, especially the fish and chips. The children also enjoyed their meals. Our dessert order was taken shortly after we finished our main course and the desserts were brought out promptly. Overall, another great dining experience at the Sugar Mill."

"We had been recommended this pub for a great Sunday lunch. It was very very busy at 2.30 when we arrived. Staff were flat out but polite. It was obvious they were struggling with overload. One young woman behind the bar looked frazzled. Menus were taken to our table at far end of the room. Next to a dying plant and a cracked window. The room was hot and stuffy but we couldn 't open windows as they were nailed or locked! We were told there would be a wait when orders were taken. We both ordered roast lamb at £17.00? I think. Drinks arrived promptly. We were called to queue for our carvery. The gentleman carving was hot and hassled. I said how busy he looked. Maybe a daft thing to say but he commented 'I 'm always busy here. ' Not a happy man. The meat was well cooked no sign of pink lamb sadly but it was the best and tastiest part of our meal. Veg was getting low and he scooped each collection of veg to the side in each tray. Needless to say the food wasnt piping hot and the veg mixed greens, carrots were overcooked. My husband had one new potato. Yorkshire puds wete deflated and doughy thro being kept warm. The cauliflower cheese was not in my opinion a pleasant flavour sauce and I left my serving. There was very little mint sauce left so we scraped the dish out that was self serve. Lack of staff caused some of these issues I feel sure. The view where we sat was really off putting and so hot I couldnt stay longer so no desserts for us. A disappointing experience. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2"
