"Food is overpriced, service is ‘interesting’. A starter of venison and pecorino ravioli is £9.50. For that you get two small (and I do mean small) ravioli swimming in a sea of melted truffle butter. Two ravioli for £9.50, it should have tasted amazing at that price. It was mediocre at best. To be fair, the rest of the meal wasn’t bad, it’s just overpriced for what it is. At these prices the Wroxham Hotel restaurant is competing with the nearby Norfolk Mead, and several very good restaurants in Norwich, and there is simply no comparison the prices charged by the Wroxham Hotel restaurant are just not justified given the nearby competition. In terms of the service, the staff are friendly, but they’re just not ‘on it’ and lack basic courtesy. We were left hanging around on arrival, then we were put on a table next to a couple with a large dog not a problem for us as we have dogs, but the staff weren’t to know that and should have asked before seating us. When we asked for the bill, we were left with the card machine whilst the waitress stood next to the table and had an extended conversation with one of her friends. She did apologise to us afterwards, but it was just rude to do that in the first place. It’s also a noisy restaurant, which makes it quite difficult for people who wear hearing aids. Some acoustic panels to absorb some of the sound would help. It’s a pity with this being a local restaurant to us that this was our experience, as we enjoy going out and don’t mind paying a bit more for a good dining experience. Unfortunately, the standard set when we dined there was well below the expectations we had given the prices charged."

Excellent breakfast and great service. Have only had the breakfast and coffees/cakes which have always been fantastic. Would definitely have a evening meal here next time we visit Wroxham!

I went for lunch today at the waterside terrace. On the website it says 12. 95 for haddock n chips . On the menu in the restaurant it was £17. So you need to update your website price menu. Next time I'll just have a drink then go on MC Donald's next door.

Two sandwiches took about 40 mins to serve. The chef was completely unaware of main allergens in his food. The manager came out, was rude, interrupted the waitress and practically told us the chef wasn’t happy to serve us. Thankfully the waitress was amazing, checked and double checked everything for us and was really apologetic. Voir le carte

We checked out the menu, but decided to just go with sandwiches, which were priced at over £11. We opted for a fish finger and a sausage sandwich. I found the fish finger sandwich to be delicious, but my friend thought the sausage sandwich was just okay. There was a dog freely roaming around the restaurant, which may deter some customers, although I personally enjoy dogs.

Yesterday, we had a delightful lunch at this restaurant. The dishes were beautifully presented. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the chicken wings were deliciously spicy (not just billed as such), and my husband raved about the fish pie with its ample fish and cheesy mashed potato topping. The ambiance was very pleasant, and the service was top-notch. We ended our meal with more wine and coffee on the outdoor terrace, enjoying the warm October weather as we watched the boats pass by.

My wife and I had dinner here after a day out on the Broads. Our table, by the window was very pleasant with a good view of the river. Food and service were good and my wife's requirements for gluten-free food were fully understood and met. Prices seemed a fraction higher than in most decent places, but not to the point that I would not come back. Maybe we were lucky with the waiting staff we got, but I cannot level the sorts of criticism that I see on this site. There was really nothing to complain about and we will certainly return. During our boating holiday, we visited this restaurant and ordered the seafood cocktail for £10.95 to share as a starter. Unfortunately, it was lacking in prawn Marie Rose sauce, with only four small prawns, a little smoked salmon, a deveined shrimp, and large lettuce leaves. For our mains, I had the haddock and chips which was decent, but my wife ordered the pork meatball linguini for £20 and was disappointed to find only five small meatballs on her plate. After expressing our disbelief, they brought her five more small meatballs. There was no table service, so we had to go to the bar to order. Overall, it was a very poor experience that we will not be repeating.

Walked in today as a group of 9. Got sat quickly and drinks order taken quickly as well. Poor girl who brought the drinks over to us however clearly hadn't been communicated by the bar staff what the drinks actually were because she had no clue, not an issue though as we knew what they were. Got our food order taken within about 10 minutes and then half an hour later the waiter came out and told us that on the pizza they didn't have any pulled pork and asked if we still wanted the pizzas, no attempt at an apology though. They did and we waited a further 25 minutes for them to come out. We were panicking because we only had a couple hours on our parking and it was cutting it fine. When the fo...

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
