"There was 6 of us that went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful pub in a beautiful village. The food was very good with very generous portions. We had one complaint and in after thought we should have mentioned it to management. We were seated at a table that was very close to the bar which I would not recommend as people coming and going for drinks were right on top of us. The most disgusting thing that happened was 2 woman came in with 3 dogs one of the dogs was being held under her arm with its butt stuck directly next to my face while I was eating, the dog smelt very bad and all six of us noticed it. I am a dog lover but dogs should only be allowed in snug areas not in the restaurant where people are eating. So when booking a table at this pub please ask not to be seated next to the bar. Food was OK, had fish pie and had bones in the first 4 mouthfuls which spoilt it. Though food was a bit expensive for what it was. Nice location friendly staff Service: 4

Good selection of beers/ales/lagers on tap. Friendly staff. Our food was really good and the menu has a surprisingly large selection of vegetarian options (nudged by the vegetarian daughter of the owner, we were told). Voir le carte

Super cosy old pub with great food! We had an amazing evening eating and drinking at this pub. The food was delicious and had really good vegan/vegeterian options. The staff was super friendly and the environment is just so nice!

A great pub with outstanding service. Stopped for drinks and ended up eating. Couple of minor issues with order and the staff were amazing in rectifying the issues. Cannot comment on accommodation as just ate and drunk. Service: 5 Location: 5

We were camping and hiking in the area and came here twice in one day! The garden was great to have lunch in after a long walk and the roast dinner was one of the best I have ever had from a pub The place has a lovely old English, cosy look and feel to it and we really appreciated how dog friendly they are we'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

We walked into the George totally drenched, muddy and dripping wet during a walking weekend. The team at the George (Frances, Ellie and Debbie) could not have been more welcoming. Food and drink was superb as we dried out beside the wood fire. Unbelievably they even offered to post back some excess gear we were complaining about carrying with us. Above and beyond, what a great pub run by staff who really care. Service: 5 Location: 5

"The Plough and Harrow is an absolutely lovely pub. We visited as a party of seven with three dogs and were seated at a table inside. Our drinks order was taken really quickly and when we had an issue with one of the drinks they immediately remedied it. We ordered four Franco chicken burgers, one fish and chips and two beef burgers. The food came really quickly and was absolutely delicious. The chicken burgers were a whole chicken breast that had been lightly battered, with a delicious homemade slaw and the chips were divine. The beef burger was similarly really nice and had loads of fresh salad in it. Just wished the chip portion was a bit bigger. When the child's beef burger came the kids meal had more chips than the adults meal did, as they put them in little metal pots for the adults meals. The inside of the pub is lovely it has loads of fairy lights and old fashioned swirly light bulbs. The staff members were really helpful. There were lots of menus around so we didn't have to share and the whole pub itself looked really clean. The toilets were also clean. That was a good range of seating inside as well as outside in the beer garden and further down past the car park there's also an additional garden with seating. The Plough and Harrow is obviously very popular as it was very busy and we went. I can see why, we had a lovely meal and we'll definitely be going back."
