"As ALL the pubs in Stow on The Wold, This is a very popular restaurant and you need to book ahead in person or by phone no online bookings). It had a lovely old world atmosphere and the menu looked great. I had Sausage and buttered mash with onion gravy. The Sausages were first quality and excellent but alas the mash was gray and there was no buttery taste it tasted very smooth but bland and the onion gravy was also lacking as it didn't have much flavour and the onions were still crunchy. We were seated in the middle of the pub and 3 flies kept landing on our faces and arms, they kept trying to land on our food. It spoilt the whole experience as we were trying to stop them landing on our food constantly. While we were eating a couple came in asking to eat but had no booking and were turned away as the manager said that they were fully booked. Not 5 minutes later 5 people came in looking for a table without a booking, but instead of being turned away the manager showed them to a table at the back."

Wonderful lunch. Had the chicken bacon leek pie and it was delicious. Service was excellent and charming. One of these dining experiences in the Cotswolds.

This was our 2nd time here, and it didn't disappoint. You know its a good pub when it's full of locals. The atmosphere is really good, so is the food. We, for sure will be back.

I went because Pru Leith recons she goes there as pilion passenger on her husband's Harley! So I thought what's good enough for Pru is good enough for me. A hot day, they don't have a written Menu, strange I thought! But the...

Had a lovely table at the back of the pub. The high backed church pew-like benches made the table feel really cosy. The menu was simple with a good selection. The steak and ale pie was delicious. The staff were very attentive. Overall a really nice pub with plenty of atmosphere.

Ate here by chance on the Tuesday night and the food and service were so good that we re-booked for the following evening. The food is good honest pub grub and the steak and ale pie is one of the best. The best recommendation I can give is that we went back, a couple we were talking to on the Tuesday had been in the previous evening, a couple that were in with us on the Tuesday were also back on the Wednesday and a couple in on the Wednesday were rebooking for the following Saturday. Something must be working.

We stopped by for dinner while staying in town and exploring the Cotswolds. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We started with a smooth and creamy duck pate with a layer of sweet orange gelatin along the top. For my main, I had a delicious flaky croissant-like pie with tender chunks of beef bathed in a flavorful stew with a tasty local cask ale. My wife enjoyed had a light, crisp, and flavorful fish and chips. Overall, the Queen’s Head provided one of the tastiest meals we found in the area and we would definitely go back.

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
