"rebooked the garden space in the dormy house during the stay near the fish hotel. the environment was very warm and welcoming, and overall eating was very good. but the service was lacking and made us confused by reconciliation. In view of the thoughtful and extensive weinlist we could see one of our favourite mixes from South Africa on the menu. after ordering, and about 15 minutes later, the server back to say there was a mistake, and they put the wrong varietal on the list and wanted to serve us a completely différent wein from this manufacturer. we ordered another bottle in harmony with the food we ordered. but our appetizers came before our wine. wait another 15 minutes (we are now 30 minutes in our dinner without wine) and the waiter comes with another bottle saying that they have lost our bottle, but for us to drink this while we wait. no explanation and not even the wine she poured. that was the last thing we saw from our waiter, because somehow the room was busy and she took the other guests for the rest of the night. we finally got our wee who was brought to the table without the cork. strange practice to get a restaurant of this caliber. when we finished our dessert, we fought for 20 minutes to get every server to recognize us or to delete our records. So we went to the server station to ask for the bill. we have observed our server work at least seven different tabs before we had to go up a second time. when the bill came, the server did not even ask us how our dinner was. we gave our credit card and the other server took it away. she returned 10 minutes later to say that she lost the connection. she gave us the card back and canceled the processing statement and said she couldn't charge our card. she did not know what to do and asked if we were with him at the reception (even if we were not guests of the hotel) will not return."

"We just wanted to send an email to thank ALL of the staff at the Frogmill for making our special day absolutely perfect!! The frogmill is such s beautiful setting and we loved visiting often from choosing the venue, right up to the wedding day! We had a meal the night before with a large group and the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We want to say an extra special thanks to a few of the staff that were incredible in the build up to the wedding and on the actual day.. Firstly, Fred. You have been amazing and nothing has ever been too much or an issue, you made sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it through every stage of our wedding!! We always came away from the Frogmill beaming with happiness more and more after each meeting with you! So thank YOU for everything!! Henry, What a guy, you were amazing!! You made sure our wedding evening was perfect for us! You did everything and MORE for us that evening, there was no stress or issues and you stayed completely calm despite us running so behind!! You co ordinated all our vendors and your staff beautifully and ensured that all transitions were smooth. When plans had to change, you made sure it was dealt with immediately. So a huge thank you to you!! And last but not least, beautiful Hollie, Hollie, what can we say, you were INCREDIBLE- from the moment we met you on Friday through to leaving on Sunday, you were there every step of the way, ensuring that everything was being done exactly how we wished but most of all, ensuring we were happy! Your official title of ‘wedding co ordinator’ needs to change, because you were so much more than this, you were my personal dress holder, my train ‘floofer’, my support, my make up checker, my ‘everything is in place’ person! The Frogmill are extremely lucky to have you!! AND Every bride needs a ‘Hollie’ Thank you again, to each and everyone of you at the frogmill that made our special day possible! Each one of you played an important part of the day, from making sure the place was immaculate, the serving of our guests, holding open doors, calming down my bridesmaids before they walked in, cooking the food, mixing the cocktails, fixing the fountains!!! THANK YOU! And best of all, thank you for allowing our fur baby Otis be part of our day, it meant the world to us!"

"Our third visit for a birthday dinner wasn’t as good as previous visits. The sweet potato soup was plain; the bread was actually toast which smacks of old bread being used. My main course of Sole was smothered with capers, which spoiled the flavour. The salad was amazing; I also ordered Savoy cabbage which may be unusual with the fish but I’d had it on two previous visits and it was delicious; but the savoy cabbage that I paid £3.50 for was absolutely dreadful, so dry, probably microwaved to death; it would not be a gross overstatement to suggest that wood shavings off the floor would have been better. The other disappointment was how tired the place is looking. When I went to the gents, the cistern cover was off showing a clear huge damp problem with mould, and the door cubicle wouldn’t close because it was swollen. I imagine they have been told to keep the cistern cover off to let the walls dry out; which they should do when the pub is closed, not during opening hours. It looked awful and the visible mould was worrying. Whilst in the cubicle the light suddenly went off within seconds of being in there which was disconcerting. For the price and the level where the Cat and Custard Pot is placed it should be immaculate with excellent food. I’m disappointed for them and for us, because this has been a goto dining place for birthdays at least once a year, but we won’t be repeating the experience. It’s worth saying that we have always experienced good service and this occasion was no exception, the waitress was excellent."

"On the surface, this restaurant looks like it should deliver. The service was slow, despite there being 3 members of staff, front of house, and 7 covers. The 3 members of staff spent the majority of their time by the entrance, away from the main restaurant. I finally had my order taken and asked for a beer and a jug of tap water. The beer arrived, but no water! The food was placed in front of me, without a word. No offer of any dressing or if I needed anything else. Throughout my meal, I didn't see a member of staff until my starter was finished. It was collected, without a word. No engagement at all! My main came a pizza). It was placed in front of my, again, without a word, and the staff member went back to join the others who were out of sight. Again, my finished main was collected, without a word...Nothing! 10 minutes later, I had a desert menu placed on my table, I think the members of staff may be mutes! My desert menu was collected and she spoke!!! I declined the offer of desert as I really wasn't impressed with the service. Writing this, I can hear the girls chatting out of sight) so they can hold a conversation. I know this country is struggling for hospitality staff, but in what could be a very good restaurant, I expected more. The starter was good. The pizza was average just lacked flavour). I wish I'd stuck with my original plan and gone to the Tapas bar, along the road..."

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
