"as a gluten-free vegan I fought for a week in the lake district, I didn't expect much, so that was such a hidden little jewel for me! eating the personal, everything was amazing. they made them so welcome and it was so nice that they were so good for gluten-free vegans also as not many vegan caffes. the food was so good that the next day we also came back for a takeaway (falafel kebab) I could even have a refined sugar-free cake! very recommended, I wish that this would be my local as I would be here all the time"

a very busy ambleside on the day we visited was happy to come to daisy’s (we were already as well as knew how well it was needed for 10 of us. the personal is very friendly with a feeling of humor a well oiled machine of efficiency great food drinks choice. highly recommended

small but amazing caffe that only serves vegan/veggie. sat for lunch and was not disappointed. the portions are large and very favorable. the taste is fantastic. the people who run the caffe are the nicest baptisms. You might have to wait a bit to get a table, but it's absolutely worth waiting.

had a nice time in gandhis caffe in ambleside. we had a great filling vegetarian breakfast (also vegan options available) which has beautifully furnished us before our long walk. the chai is recommended. we found the service to be great and friendly, we will be back when we find ourselves in the lake district.

we had such a nice, cozy meal here was exactly what we needed after a long walk in the cold. the workers are welcoming and helpful and eating absolutely fantastic. there are many vegan options in the main and desserts and I really appreciate that it was not just the standard rate. we are coming back in definitiw!

Spotted this gem of a place before our holiday and we weren’t disappointed! Fantastic home cooked food we had the vegetarian burger and the Thali. Delicious food cooked with wholesome ingredients. Impeccably clean and staff so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return this week! The cakes looked delicious too, but I was too full to sample them!

Lovely little cafe tucked away in the lanes of Ambleside. Great for vegetarians and has a variety of options. The food tasted great, the staff were friendly and service was very quick. There were only like 6 tables so we were lucky to get a table soon. Would recommend the thali as an Indian myself and I can confirm it is very authentic and delicious.

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
