"Location: 5/5 Overall, the restaurant is located in a nice area close to the ferry and was quiet on the night of our visit. However, the layout made it feel more like a cafe than a restaurant. Food and Drinks: The food was good, but one steak ordered as medium was very rare. The staff took it back to be recooked, but it came back not much better so most of it went uneaten. When we mentioned this to the staff during payment, there was no real reaction and we left disappointed. We have eaten here before with no issues, so maybe the staff need more training in handling client dissatisfaction. Service: 3/5 Overall, we will not be returning. The highlights of the hotel were its quiet atmosphere."

"Great restaurant. Really good food cooked beautifully. Decent selection of seafood alongside good hearty Ulster cooking. Good selection of wine, whiskey, beer and cocktails too. Catch of the day was plaice served with crushed potatoes, caper butter sauce and pea shoots. The fish and chips and chicken supreme were great too, and the kids menu is exactly what you'd want! "Very pleased with our dining experience at Captain Jack's. Have driven past it many times but last night decided to give it a go a good decision. Menu was good uncomplicated and each dish easily explained. Service was good, without being rushed which I like !! When the food arrived both my wife and I were very pleased. She had the stuff chicken wrapped in bacon, while I had the brisket stack. Both meals were well presented and beautifully cooked with a generous serving. Food was well priced which is a bonus in this day and age. I will DEFINITELY be back !!"

"We had a wonderful dining experience and I highly recommend the seabass, which was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. For dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate fondant, which was perfect and came with delicious ice cream. We finished our meal with an Irish coffee, which was also delightful. We've dined at this hotel many times, and the food has always been excellent."
