"Went for Sunday lunch as we are trying all of the local eateries to see which one serves great food, and where possible the service is good. Greeted and shown to our table but were asked what we wanted to drink before we had even the opportunity to sit down !! The food options appeared to be comprehensive and the price point is towards the top end of what is being charged locally. Being totally honest l did not realise there was a non negotiable 10% service charge until we had ordered. I would not have ordered if l had known as it’s virtually unheard of in Lincolnshire. The service we received did not reflect this charge !! The starters were competent however the main course roast was decidedly average. Some vegetables were very undercooked. My main beef was sliced so thinly l am not sure how the kitchen managed it ! Staff were slightly intrusive trying to get additional drink sales, and glasses and plates were whipped away as soon as possible. In short we felt rushed and not relaxed. Was any one niggle enough to complain about, not really. Put them all together and the answer is we won’t be rushing back."

The food and service were excellent, as always. The pub is gorgeous and the restaurant offers high-quality dishes. I will definitely be returning soon.

Attended for Sunday lunch with friends. This busy village restaurant has everything you want. Wonderful home cooked food, great atmosphere and friendly speedy service. The value for money against food quality was spot on, will definitely be back.

Thursday 8th April. Turned up for lunch was greeted with a glass of wine only then to be told the pob was closed due to a private functiom. There was no indication that thes was the case, no notice on the door, no on asked us who were or why we were there. We hat to hand the wine back and left irritated and very annoyed.

This was our first visit to The Livesey Arms for Sunday lunch. We were a little apprehensive due to reading some slightly negative reviews, however, our own experience proved very different to some. The service was friendly and accommodating, the food absolutely delicious. We tend to try different eateries around the area, with the Livesey now taking top spot. We will most definitely return very very soon.

I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with a few friends. The food and service were excellent. The roasts were served on large plates with just the right amount, and the vegetables and potatoes were delicious. The only downsides were that many of the seats in the bar area were uncomfortable without backs, which may not be suitable for all age groups looking for a nice dining experience. Additionally, the small car park fills up quickly, so it may be necessary to park further down the road.

Always a busy restaurant, we have been coming to the Livesey over a few years now and it goes from strength to strength. We called with friends on a Thursday evening, the bar was busy with good humoured banter and the restaurant was warm and friendly. Served by Jo, I had the chilli prawns starter followed by sirloin steak, others had the venison which I was informed was to ‘die for’ and I was assured the filet steak was delicious. We are blessed in having such a great pub in the area, without doubt, it is one of the best.

It has been a while since our last visit to the Livesey Arms, and we were pleased to see that it was still in top form. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and were initially concerned that we might be the only diners there. However, the car park was almost full and the restaurant was bustling with guests. The food was excellent, especially my Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale. The venison main course was tasty, with a delightful sauce, and the Tarte Tatin dessert had the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness. The only downside was that the dining room was not quite warm enough. Despite this, we had a great experience on Saturday 21st and will definitely be returning, and recommending it to oth...

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
