"Went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Prior to the meal we booked a few weeks before for 7 people and the staff member explained that due to COVID restrictions that we would have to play it by ear as they could only...sit 6 inside. The day before the meal we emailed to confirm and the owner called me and explained it still remained 6 people so they could sit us outside. However, if the weather turned and it rained that we could sit inside on table of 4 and 3 which we were happy with. On arriving to the restaurant we were greeted by the manager and we explained there was only 6 of us now so could we sit inside as the what was previously stated by one of the staff. The manager then said no as they were fully booked, so we sat outside under the umbrella which was not waterproof. The manager gave us menus and said he would return with water for the table but that was the last time we saw him. After sitting down and looking through the menu. After 20 minutes the waitress came over and took the drinks order. Then we waited a following 40 minutes for our food order to be taken. The food came out and it was good, although the vegan options they had. Although they had a few options which was impressive. However, the asparagus dish consisted of 6 stalks and was £8 and the gnocchi dish was emerged in pool of oil. All in all the service and whole experience was poor, they were over booked and what felt like they were under staffed. The waitress who served us was lovely and tried her hardest and made the experience bearable."

First visit to the Humble Onion, absolutely delicious food, fantastic service and the best panna cotta I've ever eaten. Will definitely be back to try the dishes we didn't have!

Waited 3 weeks to get into this place and it was easy to see why. The food we great, and we really enjoyed the sharing small plates. Especially the meat dishes service was lovely and casual (not too fussy) cannot wait to go again

this was our first visit and will return definitiw. eating was excellent quality. we shared the garnels and mushrooms to start and both had bark meat for all then divided sticky toffee pudding for desert all very delicious. wein was a good value. service excellent and...big ambiente.

visited the humble onion with family to celebrate my birthday and it was as good as we all hoped and better! the owner was a fantastic host with much better sweating than I heard before in the wobble! everything was perfect and we have...more of the new wine list than we remember the next morning, which is always a great sign! Many thanks for an unforgettable birthday meal and a happy Christmas for everyone!

Wow! This place was amazing. We got a bit lost trying to find it (it's up a side street, but has ample parking) but once we found it, the service, the atmosphere and the food were all exceptional. We sat in their beautiful little courtyard...as it was dry. I honestly can't praise the food enough and Nick who looked after us was also great. If you like small plate style eating, then this one should be on your list.
