"I stopped by for lunch and had a cold ham sandwich filled with delicious ham, accompanied by a salad and a side of croutons. I also tried the hot tuna melt panini, which was again served with a salad and croutons. Both dishes were hearty and delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the restaurant is dog-friendly as well. We chose to sit outside in the beer garden since the weather was beautiful and sunny! I would definitely recommend a visit."

What a friendly hotel/pub and the surroundings are so pretty. They couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Thursday night was a treat too with a very talented singer David Crabtree . We will definately come back. Voir le carte

What a fantastic place! The location is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly friendly, polite, and accommodating. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The breakfasts were excellent, and I had the best Steak and Ale Pie I've ever tasted—so much so that we ordered it two nights in a row. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome! The Connolly Party.

This is a fantastic place! I've been a local for a long time and know this pub well. I can confidently say that their Sunday roast dinners are out of this world—they're slow-cooked overnight and always served hot. They also have an excellent selection of beers; you have to try the "Hair of the Dog" and "Man of Steel." The staff is polite and always ready to help, even if they haven't had any bookings throughout the day. Plus, they serve great food!

"The sheaf as it’s fondly known by locals is one of the many outstanding places to eat and drink the North Yorkshire moors national park has to offer. As with most popular and excellent places to eat no mater WHERE it is in the country booking is essential to avoid disappointment. The landlord doesn’t mess around and at Times can seem quite blunt, however this is all in aid of providing excellent food and service to his customers that have booked ahead and are ACTUALLY sat in his restaurant. It is a small pub with a small dining room so it can be difficult to accept walk in diners and it famously flatly refuses to serve “Gallon walkers” who can cause a unpleasant experience for family’s and take over the small but perfectly formed bar area. I have visited many times over the years and NEVER had a bad experience. Ignore winging reviewers, pick up the phone, book a table, turn up on time and enjoy a wonderful meal with good beer at a very reasonable price. If that’s too much to ask then please take your custom to one of the many other pubs and restaurants the national park has to offer, this place will still be full of locals and tourists alike enjoying a great meal. Note. I am absolutely not affiliated with the wheat sheaf or it’s owners in anyway. I am simply just tired of reading reviews from easily offended tourists slating the place which in turn may influence people and then them miss out on a genuinely excellent meal in a fantastic genuine countryside pub."
