"Went for Sunday lunch with a friend who had visited this pub before but it was a first for me. It was quite busy for a pub that was a little bit out of Chelmsford so make sure you book in advance. I had the beef with Yorkshire pud and my friend had the chicken. It was lovely but a bit too much for me to finish. We did then order the. Chocolate brownie with I e cream but there was no chance of me finishing it, which was a shame because it was delicious. Our waitress was really lovely girl, very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. A lovely afternoon in a glorious setting. Can't wait to go again when the sun is shining and it's warm enough to eat outside."

family of 5 dined today and eating was fantastic. the roast and giant cake was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful especially our beautiful new waitress

Absolutely fantastic. Dropped in there for breakfast on route to Chelmsford. Couldn't fault it at all....food fantastic, staff brilliant, atmosphere beautiful. Need to go back for an evening meal next. Fantastic place... 5

Been today for a meal for my Birthday. Craig Lee couldn 't of made us feel anymore welcome and looked after. What can I say other than 'the steak pie ' was to die for. Thank you all at The Hare. You made my 2016 Birthday truly lovely 5* Julie xxx

Dinner on a Monday evening. The place looks great, lots of space, staff were very welcoming, service was speedy, lots of choice on the menu, we were all pleased with our food generous portions and very tasty. Sausages and mash with locally produced sausages was delicious. Good portions of healthy vegetables. Would definitely go back.

On the first visit i was charged for two meals I didn't have. Manager was very helpful over the phone and reimbursed me on my next visit. The second time, I ordered their steak pie and got a chicken one. All was corrected, I will be returning soon as the food was wonderful, and the staff lovely. They also do small plates which leave room for gorgeous deserts.

We went there for my daughters birthday Friday evening. We cannot fault the service, despite it being very busy the staff were amazing and always had a warm smile on their face. The food was delicious and plentiful. My wife had fish pie and said it was the best she’s ever tasted. All my family were satisfied with their choices and portions. Happy customers and will definitely be going back. Thank you The Hare.
