"This is my favourite place to eat in Malton, I a friend regularly have takeaway drinks lunches, mainly either, soup, sandwiches, wraps, paninis or salads. All are freshly made delicious very reasonably priced. Malton has a wide variety of cafes coffee shopsto chose from but the stand out feature that draws us back to the Patisserie is not only high quality food but the friendly, efficient staff who always make us feel so welcome. Although less often, we occaisionally sit in in the cafe which provides the same first class service products. There is also a well stocked shop with a wide variety of lovely biscuits, cakes, preserves drinks which can be made into hampers. The delights of this little Malton gem are too numerous to mention."

"We love Mexican food and we were looking forward to visiting. Upon arrival the best description I can give is chaotic. Every table was dirty and the bar was stacked with dirty glasses. The guy in charge said he’d been non stop for three hours and asked us to sit at a dirty table until they cleaned the others. After about 10 minutes and a new arrival was seated before us we were guided to a table. We were close to a large table of drunk younger people who were shouting. By this time we were losing confidence in the restaurant as they did not seem to care about our experience. After a further wait and no apology or service we decided to leave and managed to get a table at a Thai restaurant around the corner where the service and food were very good. Sadly I would not return. I doubt they even noticed we had left. Would not recommend"

"Rang up at 11:45, ordered 2 plain cheese burgers with chips for takeaway. Arrived at 12:15 and they had only made one, which wasn’t plain. Came back another 20 mins later for the second one as they’d forgotten, which granted isn’t the end of the world, but the burger was small, and the fries were so soggy I didn’t bother. £22 for all this when we can just go elsewhere and get it for under £10. Service: Take out"

"The Wentworth arms was a lovely welcoming place. We stayed for one night with my wife and I in a double room, my two daughters in another double room and , as we call her our adopted daughter in another room. From the word go, the staff were welcoming and very friendly. My best opinion. Value for money fantastic, food, fantastic, rooms are really clean . Our ensuite bathroom was clean, slight gripe and only one was the shower ceiling Could do with attention. But I am only saying that to help this business. The breakfast staff were friendly and a nice freshly cooked meal with orange juice, tea,coffee,cereals . If you want posh, this is not for you. But if you want a proper value for money place to stay, with clean rooms , it really is for you. Also you have a great community pub, and bar meals were reasonably priced. Thank you all the staff. "We went here on a 'Gift ideas for two ' ' voucher (strange scheme, but that is another story) which gives you the 'tasting menu ', a selection of their normal menu for £60 though the pub only gets £49. I suspect the only takers of the tasting menu are people using vouchers, and to be honest we would have preferred just to have a proper starter and a main course each of our choice. So we had 9 mini meals plus 6 mini desserts all were good, and our favourites were the crab fishcakes bursting with flavour. The voucher did not cover drinks cost, we had a nice bottle of red wine for only £11.50 excellent value!The restaurant is a converted bar, and lacks atmosphere, especially as there was only one other couple in all night also on a voucher tasting menu. You would have more fun eating in the bar area, which seemed to have a lively atmosphere with a darts match going on. Service was good all night. The voucher scheme and the tasting menu may give the impression of a 'fine dining ' establishment, but in reality this is a country pub with good pub food and if you are paying for it yourself at very reasonable prices."
